They weren't, unfortunately, and simply falling back into the traps would clearly not lead him into them. For the moment, she had no choice but to advance further, sprinting through the trees and searching for where he eventually appeared. If nothing else, perhaps by advancing on him she would eventually be able to steer his retreat in the direction she wanted.
It was very unlikely to work, but that was hardly different from her other attempts so far.
