Who: Kazue and OPEN
When: February 3rd
Where: Konohagakure no Sato
Notes: Just gonna reiterate the open part.

The air was different. As Kazue stepped onto foreign soil, it was one of the first things about which she would muse following a much more immediate, critical check of her surroundings. The travel seals did indeed make getting from Point A to Point B easier, but that could also be dangerous, what with one being suddenly displaced into an area one may or may not be familiar with with little to no awareness as to who or what would greet one upon arrival. Only a fool would allow oneself to be so relaxed as not to take this into consideration and Kazue, for all that she was young and no doubt arrogant in the eyes of some, was no fool. Even so, her initial wariness was quickly dispelled for the lack of threats that accompanied her calm reception and, as she presented her papers, she allowed herself to muse. The air, the wind was always different outside of the Village Hidden by Sand, outside of the Land of Wind. Telling, that difference. One had to have a proper feel for it to know how to read it, to differentiate, but she had never had an issue with doing so, being a child of the Land of Wind, and, having traveled before, she was largely unsurprised as she took into account the oddly peaceful atmosphere. Who would have thought.

Her thoughts turned rapidly from the matter as her travel papers were returned to her and she proceeded towards the village from the checkpoint, the smile she had offered slipping somewhat for the measure of seriousness that touched her. Really, her mission was simple enough. Deliver a couple of letters, receive the replies, and promptly, safely return and delivery them to the appropriate officials in Suna. She couldn't help musing that it almost seemed a little too easy and something, something was nagging at the back of her head for it. She had been requested specifically for this mission and she hadn't thought too terribly much of it at the time, but it had been some time since her jounin instructor had seen fit to interfere with her progress towards her goals by way of demanding she 'take a break' or 'get a little rest,' neither of which she needed, and she had indeed been busy with mission after mission taken for her determination. He had been getting increasingly craftier about it, too, but surely this wasn't one such attempt on his part to impede her. Surely, he knew better than to make such an attempt by way of a mission of this nature, one that would leave her so far out of the way.

That was what she thought before it turned out that at least two letter recipients from whom she required a response were presently out of the village and for no less than two week's time. Coincidence? She knew better than to think it with the second confirmation and was less than thrilled when she received further confirmation from her instructor via scroll after claiming a seat atop a branch of one of the many trees within the village's interior to inquire. She didn't justify it with a response. Silence would carry more weight than words in this instance and the man knew her well enough to know her meaning even if he didn't know her well enough to know her thoughts, that he was treading quickening sand by repeatedly making himself an obstacle to her progress. The scroll was folded wordlessly, the last letter plucked from its place hidden on her person to regard the address once again. The Hokage's office...?

"It can't be helped," she said, slipping the letter beneath her flak jacket for safe keeping.

It couldn't, but if that man wanted to kid himself into thinking she would cease training in her entirety in a foreign territory for so long a period, let him. She had things to do, to learn, goals to accomplish, and she would not be hindered, not by this. Pushing off from the branch, the red-haired kunoichi landed easily, gracefully and stood, straightening as the foreign wind stirred and whipped through her hair, drawing her attention briefly. Ultimately, the 'where' didn't matter. Different or not, the wind still stirred, still blew. As long as she could continue to train, to grow stronger, more powerful until her return to her village, that was fine by her. She might miss the full moon, but there would be another next month and she would simply endeavor not to miss that one on the off chance things became interesting that night in Suna.

Ha. Interesting. Vaguely, she wondered if this Village Hidden by Tree Leaves might prove capable of being that much. It had been some time since her last visit, after all, and that one had proven very brief for her business at that time. Now that she had time to look at it, however, she found herself wondering. Just how strong, how powerful was this village, its people that she should be stranded here, of all places?

Obito had gotten a missive by bird that morning that a Suna-nin was being sent to his village on an extended courier mission, so he wasn't caught off guard, at the very least... and that meant that the girl got an open enough welcome. She also had Obito checking to make sure that someone was keeping an eye out for her among his ANBU just in case she failed to come see him first.

After all, a foreign shinobi should hardly be running around without checking in with the officials. But, all of that was immaterial to what he was doing as he had immediately put it out of his mind to clear as much of the work from his desk as possible. It was was a never ending battle, that, but he didn't mind, and it kept him busy on days like today, when he couldn't afford to leave the tower.
