[OPEN] but she and her furry friends

Who: Konayuki and YOU.
Where: Konohagakure
When: March 10th onwards into infinity.

Her aim is simple: If she's going to be living in Konoha for the foreseeable future, she should introduce herself to the other villagers. To achieve this, she heads out every morning after greeting Sakumo-ojisan and the others with Kakashi, setting out into the village proper on her own to meet as many people as she can.

She starts with shops and businesses, but passers-by are just as much fair game for a bow and a chirped introduction as the shopkeepers. With a bright, "Hello, excuse me!" and a bob, she'll try to stop them.

This mission only ends when she's introduced herself to every citizen of Konoha. That said, this mission will never end.

He blinked as the little girl flagged him down, coming to a rather obedient halt so the child could catch up and shifting on his feet to peer down at the girl more comfortably. "Hello, was I the one you were talking to?"

"Yes!" She beamed up at her fifteenth target. "I just moved here, so I wanted to introduce myself."

She was adorable. He just wished that some of his students were as friendly as this little girl, as it would make his life dramatically easier. At first anyway, it's the kind of thing that could make his life dramatically harder too.

"Have you? What made you pick Konoha?"

She thought about it. Until she'd descended from Odoriyama, she hadn't known anywhere else to head towards. It was natural for Fire to be the goal... But that seemed a little silly in hindsight. She laughed a little self-consciously.

"I guess I didn't really have a reason. Ah, but now I'm here, it's so I can look after Kakashi-ojisan. My name is Konayuki Itezora, and I'm ten years old. Might I ask your name?"

Kakashi? This girl was here for that guy? It boggled the mind that the man might be good enough with children to warrant it... and made him wonder at the lack of mention of her parents in her reason for arrival.

"Umino Iruka." He dipped his head slightly. "I'm an Academy teacher, so a lot of people just call me Iruka-sensei."

"Umino Iruka-sensei?" She thought about that. "Ah. That's a strange name for someone who lives in the forest, isn't it?"

He gave a wry smile. "My family used to come from the coast, so it probably makes a lot more sense if you look at it that way." He shook his head, grinning at the child. "Most people don't comment on it."

More than once, once he corrected them anyway.

"That does make sense," she agreed, apparently satisfied. "Might I ask... what does an Academy teacher do?"

"Ah? Oh! I teach young people things they need to know to become talented shinobi. Hand to hand, history, jutsu, and a few other things. It's not a very short list I'll admit." He grinned down at her. "Were you thinking of going into classes too?"

It helped that Masanori was, for all intents and purposes, possessed of an appropriate height considering his age. That bright greeting draws sharpening eyes and sees the young shinobi pause, eyes turned and gaze dropped to the young girl. She's young, but how young, he isn't entirely sure, his thoughts turned rather abruptly from recent events to assess the girl and this situation. A smile finds his face despite this and he turns more fully to face her, sliding the manju in his hand up his sleeve for safekeeping.

"You're excused," he quips in turn with a smile, but he's quick to drop into a squat so as to be at a better level considering her height. "So, what can I do for you?"

Another kid! She considered him for a moment, then padded the last foot or so of distance between them and bowed again, probably brushing his shoulder with her toptail in the process.

"Might we introduce ourselves? I'm Konayuki Itezora, ten years old."

If that wasn't the most amusing think he'd seen all day, Masanori wasn't sure what was. He blinked at that tuft of hair that touched his shoulder, but smiled that much wider for it. Such a well-mannered little lady at ten! That wasn't something he saw every day.

"Konayuki-chan, ne?" He inquired, tossing a thumb at himself. "Masanori Shizuoka, twelve years old. You can call me 'sempai' if you want. It's nice to meet you!"

"Masanori-sempai? Okay!" Her next grin, gap-toothed and exuberant, matched his. "Are you a ninja too?"

"I sure am!"

And ah, the pride in that statement. Or rather, the pride he saw fit to present. He presented a lot of things, dishonestly, but feigning sincerity was an easy projection by nature. Still, he was a shinobi. There was no denying the truth in that statement.

"You, too? I don't think I've seen you around, though!"

Just where was this one from? Konoha? Well, it was possible. It wasn't as though he had had much access to the rest of the village until he was Academy aged and even then, he had had to struggle against the ropes of constraint as he had grown older to acquire more. There were certainly unfamiliar faces and names to be met in Konoha for it.

Her lively spirit caught his attention, and Gai recognized her by the symbol for her clan in her hair. She was not quite what he imagined of Kakashi's niece. But he was eager to meet this girl that called herself that, and so, as soon as he had paid for his purchase, Gai approached her with a smile, juggling the groceries as he leaned down to greet her.

"Itezora-san? Is that you?"

"Yes--" Konayuki spun to address whoever it was who knew her name - her work was paying off, hooray - and froze as she recognised the man from one of Kakashi's photos.

Hero worship had that effect.

"Ah, Maito Gai! You're Maito Gai-san!"

Though not an actual native of Konoha, Pengin was starting to feel like he would be able to walk the public areas of this town blindfolded at the rate he was going in his back and forth when Umigame sent a missive involving something he suddenly recalled he needed, and that had to come from Konoha instead of Uzushio. So it was just time before he would notice a familiar tuft of white hair in the crowds of this city.

He paused in indecisiveness for a bit, he didn't really want to bother her if she was busy, but he was glad she had made it and likely found who she had been looking for. Though if Oshidori was right then if he didn't say hello it would be considered rude.

"U-hm K-konayuki-san..."

"Huh?" It had been long enough that she wasn't completely surprised when she was recognised. If anything, she was proud if and when it happened. But combined with a familiar stutter she'd last heard weeks ago? That was a surprise.

A good one, though. She shone as she closed the distance between them. "Ah, Pengin-chan? It's you! Long time no see!"

"I-it's nice to see you again K-konayuki-san"

Which was a surprise in itself considering he wasn't really one to actually seek others out like this.

"H-how are you doing?"

"I'm doing well," she held out one hand in greeting. "I found my uncle! I'm living with him now - ah, that reminds me, did you find what you were looking for?"

He had automatically copied her action and initiated the handshake without thought. Instead having let his manners lead on that as he kept up the conversation now out of curiosity.

"O-oh, I'm glad t-that you managed to find him."

And he really was, he had been hoping she wouldn't have to keep roaming like she had been when he had first run into her.

"U-un, yes, I did after a while."

Kiba was riding through the gates on Akamaru's back, and from that position couldn't actually see much of the ground beneath their feet. Therefore, when the voice chirruped a greeting, he squinted around and across the heads of the crowd to locate it's source, and only thought to look down once Akamaru's large snout had found the tuft of hair atop the little girls head.

"Eh?" Kiba's eyes locked on her soon after, and he leaned over Akamarus shoulders to get a better look. He'd never seen her before, which was weird since in one way or another, Kiba knew everyone.

"I'm Konayuki," she chirped to Akamaru. He was big enough to be a ninja dog, and frankly she'd met more talking animals than not in her lifetime. It seemed obvious that she should introduce herself to every member of the village, regardless of limb arrangements and skin-to-fur ratio. But then Kiba leaned down and finally came into view, and she lifted a hand to point with enough speed to lightly clip Akamaru's nose. "Ah! It was you?!"

He was riding a dog! Ground-dwellers were weird.

The greeting was unexpected but not unwanted, Mika didn't mind running into new people at all! Even while getting groceries. They looked down suddenly and flashed a wide smile. Cute kid. "Hi, did you need something dear?" This child didn't look familiar and Mika usually remembered a cute girl. Especially such a sweet little thing like this one!

The greeting sees Yamata pause in purposeful tracks where he might otherwise have continued for his thoughts as to inquire after the wandering Itezora. Why Konoha of all places? He still didn't quite understand what would have drawn an Ice native, let alone a shinobi child in the wake of their clan's murder, more than halfway across the continent to this village in particular. Still, his thoughts are paused abruptly, his eyes made to drop several feet to take in a -- a young, bright child, if ever he did see one. Somewhat taken aback, he exchanges glances with Kouran very briefly, then --

"Yeah?"

And while it's somewhat roughly issued, it's just that with a tinge of impatience. They've been on the trail of their child Giant since they left Ice on the seventh, dutifully removing the tracks that might lead others to him or her, and he's rather keen to find said person for all the work they've put in to date. Ice belongs in Ice, after all, and potential such as that shouldn't be left to melt and waste.

"I'm Konayuki Itezora," the young child said, in a rushed burst. There had been a huge influx of new travellers and returning shinobi recently as missions ended and contracts awaited renewal, and she'd been busy barreling around making sure they all knew her name. These travellers were in a group, at least, so she bowed to each of them in turn, added an, "It's nice to meet you! See you around!" and promptly spun on one heel and pattered off towards the next unsuspecting arrival.

Kouran hadn't imagined tracking down one child would be so...simple, considering how obvious the tracks left behind were, yet so difficult considering they had still yet to find them, whoever they were. She had heard the Itezora were hardy, but truly, she had underestimated what was meant by that.

But oh, what a cute girl...! And a polite one, too. She wanted to greet her back, but she had already turned away. "Ah, wait --"

...Wait a minute.

Wait a minute was right. The words were realized a moment too late. The symbol of the Itezora clan tattooed into the child's hair and atop her shoes suffered the same and saw Yamata pause alongside Kouran. His eyes widened a fraction. He stepped after her swiftly, determined not to let her be lost for the crowd.

"Oi! Hold on just a second!" He called, his speed carefully controlled as he stepped after her. 'Itezora,' you said?"

Such a tiny girl? Was this truly the child giant they'd be tailing for the past three weeks?

Intent on a rather distracted chuunin squad coming through the checkpoint, Konayuki didn't slow for a fair few steps. When she did, it was with a bounce and a skip as she had to arrest her momentum before she collided with Yamata.

"Yes?" She smiled with the polite expectation of a child with no reason not to.

Kouran followed after her brother, not wanting to lose her in the crowd either. "You said you were an Itezora, right?" Goodness, the one they've been looking for turned out to be such a cute child! "We've been looking for you."

She nodded her way through the first question, but they'd been looking for her? She glanced between the two of them before blurting, "Really? Looking for me?"

Ah, no, it was her clan name they were repeating. "Um, might you have some business with my clan?"

Having halted in front of the child, Yamata couldn't help but 'appreciate' her height. Had this child really left such impressions as the ones they'd covered up across so much land? All evidence thus far suggested as much. Her very presence here, at the end of them, suggested as much.

"Aa. The matriarch of the Itezora's rabbit clan summons sent us," Yamata replied. "It would be better to talk in private."

It would be better because he wasn't certain how she would react considering the matters that would be breached. For a child who had lost her entire clan, she was certainly cheerful, but that may not remain the case for the reminder. If he was going to deal with tears, and he never had dealt well mind, he'd prefer to deal with them in a more private setting.

"Uhm, well, yes." She thought back to the rabbit matriarch, who they promised they'd retrieve the Itezora child, however the meeting turned out to be. "But we'd also like to have a talk with you, too."

Unlike her brother, Kouran was better at dealing with feelings, and while Konayuki seemed cheerful so far, she wouldn't be surprised if what they wanted to talk about would upset her, even if it was only a little. Still, she stretched out her hand to Konayuki. "But like my nii-sama said, it would be better if we talked somewhere more private. If you don't mind."

Yuffie was on a mission when the girl walked up to her. It was far too early for her to be so chipper but it made Yuffie smile. Her hands balled up and pushed into her pocket. She was tense but she wore a friendly smile.

"What's up?"

She wasn't heading anywhere just yet so she didn't mind stopping to chat though she couldn't help but think that this girl might want something from her.
