At that question Kakashi sucked in a quick breath, straightening up and looking from Kushina's face, to the face of the tiny little cherub-like form in her arms. He was adorable, even Kakashi couldn't deny that, and he looked so much like his parents that it was uncanny... and that only made Kakashi's paranoia worse. He didn't know the first thing about how to hold a baby - where to put his hands, how to support the weight - and the uncertainty put him entirely on edge.
"No," he said curtly, shaking his head a little-- and then backtracked. That was rude. He was supposed to be here to keep Kushina company and keep her happy, and refusing to hold her new baby probably wouldn't get him anywhere fast.
"I mean, I've never done it before. I'm not sure how.. and I'm.. wearing armor, so..."
