It had been just long enough since he'd seen Lee in person that he was momentarily taken aback by the tornado of enthusiasm that answered the door - which showed as a blink that took longer than usual, but he was trying - and in any case he was soon seated at Lee's table with shoes carefully tucked away beside the door, scarf folded nearby, and a tiny potted offering set before him like some faint attempt at a shield.
He wasn't entirely sure how he'd gotten there so fast, but that was normal too.
