Kankuro kept himself close and together as they walked, not straying far from Gaara's side. It might have seemed a little strange that someone who had once been so reluctant to spend any time near Gaara was now hovering so close to his back, but Kankuro's now wavering distrust for Gaara was nothing compared to his apparent distrust for Konoha. He had a lot to learn, and here Gaara was as the most unlikely of teachers.
Kankuro followed, obedient for once, peering around with caution and wondering just how in the world he'd managed to miss the fact that Gaara was as comfortable here as the citizens themselves were. That much was obvious at Gaara's choice of resturant, let alone his knowledge of it's existence, and the familiarity with which the server greeted them.... both of them.
Oh god. Kankuro winced with a kind of painful politeness at her greeting, but his fists were balled. Just how much had Gaara been sharing....?
