"Oh." She shrugs slightly her smile returning. "We got older too." It took her by surprise but she doesn't mind having to look up to see his eyes. She'd long since resigned herself to being shorter than most of her friends.

"If you could request one thing for the holiday what would you ask for?" The questions seems to come out of nowhere, but she hadn't expected him this year, which was foolish really. And now that he was here, she wanted to give him one thing he really wanted with the rest of her gift.
