Gai arranged the tea-light candles into little colorful glass bowls he had bought specially for this, with the roses (Inoichi's daughter's suggestion when Gai explained it was for a date; she did her best to deter him from the sunflowers and gerberas he was usually attracted towards) tucked between the candles. He lit the candles, then dimmed the lights and headed back into the kitchen to make sure dinner wasn't burning.
