Who: Mystery-Solving Teens (Gaara & Sasuke)
When: 02/22-03/01
Where: Land of Bears That Will Soon Regret Meeting Teenagers.
Notes: Violence against bears.
There had been something off-putting about the mission description. That was not, in itself, unusual, given that the subject of the briefing had read: Investigation: individuals disappearing into Bears.
Unfortunate country names were somewhat par for the course, but Sasuke had done a bit of a double-take when Obito had handed the scroll to him, and it had taken just a shade too long for him to notice the proper noun. He strongly suspected that the mission was intended to give Gaara a pretext to be in Konoha before Suna could kick up any real fuss, in which case Bears or bears would have been appropriate, really.
The thing that was really odd, thus far, was that the mission had proceeded quite as easily as all this. As cut off from outside contact Bears had been, it had been oddly easy to locate the individuals the briefing had suspected, and even easier to layer a subtle genjutsu over their secluded encampment so that he and Gaara could sneak in closer.
They hadn't even run into any bears yet, which combined with the wait for nightfall and optimal ambush lighting, left Sasuke wondering just where the name of the country had come from. He glanced over at Gaara's position, lifting a questioning eyebrow.
