[Closed] Turtles Ahoy!

Where: Hokage Office
When: Late on the evening of the 18th of May.
Who: Obito and a baby turtle. And Gai, eventually.
Notes: He was not running that late but Gai apparently noticed anyway.

Obito had noticed that it had gotten dark a while ago, and while there was the niggle that said he should probably leave and eat soon, he just hadn't managed to find an end to the paperwork in a way that said it was something he could do yet. He was sure he'd manage it in an hour or so. Completely sure, but he'd told himself that an hour before that too, and hadn't since checked the time to realize how much time had passed.

The last thing he expected, after leaning down to retrieve a fallen paper though, was to end up nose to nose with a turtle smaller than his palm when he came up a moment later. Suffice to say, it put a pause in his thoughts for a moment on the paperwork front.

And then made sure the button was jammed when it declared that it had been sent to remind Obito how late it was, and demanded a sweet for its trouble.

Oh. He nodded slowly as he let Obito's words sink in, eyeing Obito like a tempting dessert. Maybe he wasn't teasing after all. At least, he hoped not. "Most definitely."

"Sooo, Dango, then dinner, then dessert, yeah?" He leaned into his chest, grinning at him as he leaned in and touched their noses together with only a slight lean up on his toes.

Self-restraint. Gai knew he had some buried deep down but Obito seemed to be constantly intent on divesting him of it. He didn't have a clever reply, and he wanted one because Obito was so playful and smart, but he felt his breath catch and instead leaned down to kiss him a little harder than necessary, stepping him back to pin Obito against the doorway to the kitchen.

He let out a small groan at the reaction, arms lifting to wrap around his shoulders as he kissed him back for a moment, though he came up for air quickly, tugging on Gai's hair lightly.

Gai pressed a few kisses to Obito's cheek and neck after their kiss broke. He had gotten a little too carried away, too distracted. But after dinner seemed so far away and sometime dessert before dinner was tempting. "Sorry, dango now, right?"

He bared his neck, then gently nudged him away, feeling himself lose his breath. "Yeah, yeah that now."

"Of course." He stepped back with some reluctance, letting Obito go and giving him breathing room. After all those years, keeping his hands to himself was a new challenge, particularly with Obito looking breathless and kissable. Ah, but dinner. Right. His beautiful Hokage-husband-to-be needed to eat. "I look forward to trying your dango!"

He slid his hands down his shoulders and chest, then slipped to get the rice flour and everything he needed to make them. "Would some that's less sweet satisfy your pre-dinner wishes?"

He shivered under the touch then settled back to watch Obito work. It was best to stay out of his way in the kitchen. And it afforded him a good excuse to watch Obito. "Sometimes dessert before dinner can be acceptable. I will eat whatever you make."

He flashed him a grin, then moved to get one of the fillings he best enjoyed, sitting that out too before starting to roll out the flour, humming to himself. It didn't take him long, experience lending him speed. The most dangerous part for Gai was probably when he started weilding a pan and hot water really.

It might have been a little dangerous, and Gai made sure to not get too close, but he found it fascinating and alluring from a distance. Obito's movements were experienced and sure, in his element, like watching him train or fight or negotiate.

He dumped the dango in ice water with a flourish and dispatched the hot pan to the sink, fishing them out a moment later with a stick and putting them on a plate with honey sauce. "All done!"

He took the plate from Obito with a kiss on the cheek. "It looks delicious! Come, have a seat and we shall eat and you can tell me about your day!"

He ran his fingers over his side then moved off to sit down. "Do you want to make dinner after this or should I?"

"I can! Unless you would like to as a means of unwinding." He placed the plate on the table between them and sat down. "But I think you have had enough work for the day."

"I doubt you've been idle Gai." He picked up one of the sticks and started to nibble.

"Of course not! I am never idle! But...that is different!"

He took a bite of the dango, then another with much enthusiasm. "This is excellent! No wonder you supply someone with sweets recipes!"

He laughed at the words and leaned over, touching his wrist. "Not so different. Glad you like it though."

Gai gave him a soft smile and put his other hand over Obito's. "Very different." He pat his hand and then nudged the plate closer to Obito. "Now eat! Do not let me eat it all!"

He snickered, but let it go, instead reeling in the plate to attack the contents with relish. After all, it was his favorite honey sauce he'd put on them. "Okay okay I'll eat then."
