Who: Yuffie and Shinobu
Notes: Training! Maybe Talking… Nothing super crazy…yet~

It’s been hard getting used to her new position but she’s done her best to stay in top form. Politicians around her are insufferable most of the time and she didn’t know how they managed to be such pig headed dolts. It’s safe to say that Yuffie needed to train for everyone’s wellbeing.

However, she was constantly kept busy as if the idea of a Daimyo training was unacceptable; Yuffie was hardly one to listen to them. They did a good job keeping her busy during the day with meetings and paper work. When things slowed down she was assaulted with marriage proposals and other frustrating nonsense that came with her new position. She loved Kiri and she wouldn’t change her current situation but some nights she had to get away.

She was skilled enough to slip unnoticed from her home and with the depressing building behind her she made her way towards the designated shoreline. She was lucky that she knew someone who was willing to train with her though she was sure he had motives of his own. Her footsteps remained silent even as she trotted along the shifting shore. Yuffie kept a look out for her trainer but she hadn’t spotted him yet.

She had noticed the similarities between Shinobu and Sephiroth instantly. It was sort of hard not to considering the time she had spent with the green eyed shinobi. It would be rather entertaining to know they hadn't yet discovered the similarities.

Yuffie felt a smile tug at her lips as she walked closer. It had taken her extra time to get away tonight. She was planning to make this training session worth it which involved preparation should someone peek into her room.

"And what could have given you that impression?" Her tone was light and maybe a little teasing. She was wearing her usual Shinobi outfit and not anything that depicted her position.

The edges of Shinobu's lips quirks into something of a smile once she answers him with such confidence. He's starting to form a second opinion about Yuffie these days. It's still shocking to know she hails from nobility but at least the girl is spunky. She's unlike most of the brain dead noble folk he had to deal with in the past.

It's quite refreshing.

"Maybe it has something to do with you being a very wealthy man's daughter." He replies as he effortlessly rises to his feet. Shinobu takes a moment to dust the sand off him before speaking again. "What have you already studied in the art if ninjitsu?" He asks while giving her a curious gaze.

"You know a few things, don't you?"

Yuffie rolled her eyes. "Well when you say it like that." It almost sounded like they were doing something wrong which was technically true. She probably shouldn't be meeting guys in the middle of the night for training or anything else for that matter.

"Let's see, I have obtained Chunin rank and I was studying under Sephiroth." She smiled innocently. "So I know a few things." Though she was interested in learning more. She wanted to reach the Jounin rank even if it would displease those she worked with on a daily bases.

Yuffie pulled a large Shuriken from behind her back. "I prefer to use this." It's easily bigger than her but then Yuffie was small which was why she relied mostly on her speed and agility in a fight. She had also recently gotten a lot better at escape techniques though simple rope sometimes messed her up.

A slight scoff escapes his lips once Yuffie spoke of Sephiroth. His dislike for the Silver Terror is almost palpable. The man didn't quite make a good impression on Shinobu for various reasons he would rather not state. Despite the duo looking so much alike, neither could stand the other. This truly might amuse Yuffie.

"One could only wonder what that man would teach you." He grumbles as he crosses his arms. "Though, I'll admit that if he taught you anything useful, then this won't seem so daunting." Shinobu comments while eying her enormous shuriken.

"Demonstrate how you use it."

Sephiroth was mostly trying to teach her to follow and be less reckless though that wasn't really working. Yuffie always followed the beat to her own drum and quiet frankly no one else could hear it. No one understood the things that she did but there were often specific reasons behind her actions.

She really wanted to reply that the pointy end went into the target but she didn't think he was in the mood for that sort of humor. Yuffie brought the giant blade up and flicked it through the air easily. She didn't expect it to hit but as it moved through the air, so did she. Her plan was to attack, it was simple and assuming he'd attack back it was the quickest way to learn. She appeared behind him, her shuriken spinning through the air towards them both as a small dagger flicks into her hand.

Yuffie guessed right about Shinobu's lack of humor at this bewitching hour. The shinobi is known to be a bit stern at times. He's not the type to smile often nor is he easily amused by the jest of a teenage delinquent.

Her attack is easily parried by the sapphire blade Ame-no-Ohabari. Shinobu almost decided to keep his sword sheathed in fear accidentally injuring the girl. Yuffie might be his student for the evening but she's royalty. A tratior like him injuring the daimyo's daughter would surely not sit well with either acting Mizukages.

Shinobu probably would be executed on the spot.

"Decent technique." He compliments before quickly putting some distance between them. "But sloppy still."

Yuffie would be pissed to know that he was holding back. She was tired of people handling her with kid gloves since her new position. She was tired of a lot of things but she was also stubborn and she wasn't going to let anything stop her from reaching her goals; as childish as some of them might seem.

Her brows furrow as she looked at him, her dark eyes glinting from the light of the moon. She moved forward to attack again this time using Kirigakure no Jutsu and surrounding the area in a thick mist before jumping forward. She felt comfortable under the cover of mist and she was able to move silently as she shifted around him.

Yuffie attacked from the right bringing her blade across his center. She wasn't holding back because she knew if she did then she'd never get better.

Once the mist descended upon them, Shinobu realized that the girl meant business. He tightens his grip around his sword and waits for her next strike. Even though Yuffie might be able to mask her movements with this technique against normal opponents, Shinobu can literally hear everything. He's half-vampire after all and very much capable of hearing even the most minuet whispers.

From the right...!

Shinobu instinctively swings his sword to parry against her dagger. He takes this moment to try and dominate this fight by pushing Yuffie back forcefully with a horizontal strike. He doesn't doubt that Yuffie can handle herself well enough not to be impaled.

Yuffie jumped over his strike, letting her blade hit his and protect herself from its sharp edge. She uses her momentum to swing at kick at Shinobu's head knowing that she most likely wouldn't be able to land her strike but it was easier than dodging backwards.

A soft grunt echoes from her lips as she moves.

She prides herself on her speed more than anything. She's small and light and that gives her an extra little bit of speed though Shinobu is on a completely different level than her.

She knew that but she wasn't going to give up.

While Yuffie is definitely fast, Shinobu is always faster. As expected, the vampire effortless dodges the well aimed kick in favor if trying to aim a kick of his own at her. Yuffie shows promise despite being nowhere on the same level as the jounin. It's little wonder why Yuffie hasn't gone any further through the hierarchy other than the fact others are blind to her prowess in combat. Yuffie is damn good.

"You're not bad!" Shinobu praises her before aiming his blade once more towards the stalwart ninja. "You're actually better than most, dear." Although, Yuffie is a tad predictable at times.

Yuffie caught his blade with her own and the force was enough to push her backwards. She flipped back, landing easily on her feet. She was panting softly and there different levels were obvious to her. Her gaze narrowed as she straighten.

"I guess I should take that as a compliment." She might be venting some frustration but Shinobu might not have caught on to that.

She sighed softly and then shook her head. "I want to be a Jounin." It was what she was working towards before her recent promotion.

Yuffie absently wonders what she needs to do to get him to really attack her back. Though she didn't really want to explain cuts at work in the morning, unless they can be hidden under clothing.
