When: Arriving March 1st, late morning, until leaving March 9th, mid-afternoon
Where: In and around Konoha, between the village gates and the travel seal if you really want, ...seriously, just everywhere when she's not spending quality time with her family

No matter how many times she came back to Konoha, she always made a point to walk around different parts of the village. It felt necessary to reacquaint herself with the streets and various landmarks after spending so long away from home. And meeting up with friends is a must too. On a couple afternoons she even takes some time in one of the training areas by the river. No reason not to keep sharp, even if she's technically on vacation.

Whether you're looking for her or not, that bright red hair of hers isn't hard to miss.

"Of course you were, Kushina, of course you were. Did the ramen or your blonde boys distract you this time?"

Mikoto teases the red head kindly, extremely pleased to see her friend again, "I've been fine, even if I have been reduced even more to nothing but a lovey housewife again. How was the trip?"

"Neither for once. Some messages came in from the council about some new arrivals and other village business. It would figure something would come up while I'm on vacation. I'm so relieved we got it all settled."

She waved her hand as if to brush the thought of it away.

"Everything's been going good. There's still a lot of work to be done, but some of the academy students look promising, so we may get some talented new genin to start helping out with missions. Speaking of missions, if you get tired of the housewife thing, you should take some on here and there." She dropped her voice to a low whisper, leaning in to Mikoto's ear so only she could hear. "I haven't even told Minato this yet, but I'm gonna be needing some talented ninja in the next month or two for a very important mission. I know I can't pick who goes and I haven't submitted the mission yet, but I'd trust you to be in on this."

"Ah..." Mikoto bites her lip at the new information, processing it through her well organized mind, "Do you honestly trust me enough for something you deigned a 'very important mission'? I haven't been an active jonin in a while and though I 'love' the fact that you chose me first without approval..." Now that she thought about it, Kushina did have a tendency to do such; jump into things without thinking. Mikoto was ever so thankful that she was the red head's friend and that Minato was her husband, lest the Red Habanero be jumping around without purpose.

But no matter the fact that she hadn't been a 'ninja' for a while, she was always willing to help her friend out. With that, Mikoto smiles a little, "You know I don't accept missions anyways without detail, detail, details! But, if you need help, I won't mind."

"Of course I do! And I'll get approval for the mission here. I just have to... submit it formally first. The council's already picking candidates in Uzushio. I'm sure I told you my clan has a mask storage temple outside of Konoha. We're just finishing construction on a new one, closer to Uzushio, so we're gonna be moving all the masks and everything from the old one to the new one. But I'd feel better moving everything in one trip since some of the masks are valuable to our heritage."

She paused for a moment, since breathing was probably a good idea. Technically "retired" or not, Kushina felt this would be a good mission for her friend. Despite the high-ranking she intended to give it, the level of combat expected was likely to be low. Still, it wasn't her call. That would be up to Obito.

"I can get you more details later when the final pieces are in place. But I would appreciate your help if you can, y'know!"

"You know I can never deny helping you out, Kushina, one way or another..." She sighs, an exasperated and most likely indulgent sigh, "We'll put it this way then, alright? As long as you can be allowed to run this mission, I won't mind being a part of this. Also, you're going to have to help me convince Fugaku..."

Mikoto smiles just a bit incredelously at her own words, knowing that her husband probably wouldn't be too pleased to her that his wife was being employed on another ninja quest of some sort. Scratch that, he would most likely out right refuse, for her sake, which she knew at least was reasonable. She tilts her head at Kushina, "I don't suppose you still have some blackmail on Fugaku hidden somewhere?"

"Hm... I don't know. I might have something, but I can't remember if I used it or not. It's not even supposed to be a dangerous mission, village politics and the importance of the masks to our heritage is what's gonna make the mission rank so high."

She frowned, thinking hard for anything even vaguely useful. Even after several minutes, nothing came to mind. Damn it all...

Mikoto giggles, taking in Kushina's somewhat rambling in stride, "Ah, I could use the fact that it is, after all, village politics and I am, after all, a matriarch. Fugaku may not like it, but perhaps I could convince the Elders of the importance of this mission of yours?"

She pats the red head's shoulder gently with a smile, "It's fine, no need to think too much for blackmail."

The frown quickly vanished, replaced in no time by a sunny smile.

"That's a great idea! I can't think of any blackmail, but we could both pitch it as two clan matriarchs standing for... Inter-village unity! Yeah! And strengthening bonds between two well-known clans!"

"Uchiha and Uzumaki already have a strong bond, within and outside of politics, so I'm I could properly convince them with a few well timed suggestions..." Mikoto allows her musings to trail off, focusing back on her friend, "We give our husbands so much trouble with our antics, do we not?"

The first remark made her smile grow as she nodded in agreement, but Kushina couldn't help laughing at the second.

"I suppose we do. It's a wonder their hairs haven't all turned white by now."

Mikoto has to at least attempt to cough loudly to hide her snort of amusement, waving her hands to muffle a laugh as well, "Oh, you wouldn't believe it, but Fugaku keeps finding white hair and every time he does so he has the sweetest yet funniest expression on his face!"

"Does he? I wish I could see it! If Minato has any, I haven't noticed in that giant mess of blonde. Or he hasn't bothered to tell me because he knows I'll tease him. More than I do already, I mean."

"You are such a lovely wife to your husband..." Mikoto's voice did the usual; attaining the perfect balance between sincere and teasing, "Ah, I feel like an old lady now, hm..."
