Who: Kushina and whoever
When: Arriving March 1st, late morning, until leaving March 9th, mid-afternoon
Where: In and around Konoha, between the village gates and the travel seal if you really want, ...seriously, just everywhere when she's not spending quality time with her family
Notes: Just come say hi 8| Aforementioned quality time with family will be most mornings from March 2-9, and all nights. But family teammates are always welcome to dinner. >3>
No matter how many times she came back to Konoha, she always made a point to walk around different parts of the village. It felt necessary to reacquaint herself with the streets and various landmarks after spending so long away from home. And meeting up with friends is a must too. On a couple afternoons she even takes some time in one of the training areas by the river. No reason not to keep sharp, even if she's technically on vacation.
Whether you're looking for her or not, that bright red hair of hers isn't hard to miss.

She pulled one of her clones over to give her an order.
"I need everyone up in the trees immediately. Ten seconds after getting this message, the clones maintaining the barrier need to release it on the side facing away from the village first. Do not release yourself until we get Obito secured in one of the trees."
"Got it!"

He turned his head to blink at her and gave her a sheepish smile. "At least I'm not on fire?" Just sopping wet. Barely out of winter.
no subject
"Shut up and come on," she said.
Two of her clones came to support him in order to bring him up into the nearest tree. His water whip restraints were released as the other clones went up into the treetops to avoid accidental destruction.

Once everyone was out of range of the water, the clone Kushina had given the order to released herself. And like clockwork, part of the barrier retracted and the water flooded out in a raging torrent after ten seconds.
"Once this all goes down, we'll get moving."
no subject
"So. Um. How long ago did my sharingan off mode anyway? I think I missed it. Couldn't have been too long though."
no subject
Ah, and there went the water. She and her clones carefully jumped down the tree. A few released themselves after they landed in the soggy ground that could now pass as a marsh or swamp.
"Not sure how long your Sharingan's been off though. Looks like my strategy to burn out your chakra worked though."
As the barrier retracted and the clones maintaining it vanished, Kushina could feel some of the exhaustion hitting her. Damn it. How much chakra had she used up? Maybe some of her remaining clones could make dinner.

Poof. Poof. Poof. Poof. Poof. Some more clones vanished and the combined energy spent was spread more heavily between Kushina and her remaining half dozen clones. Damn. But as she was determined to walk home without any support, the other clones would stick around. At least they waited until she was on the ground again.
"C'mon. Let's go. You're staying for dinner with us after you get patched up."
no subject
Way too much if he was truthful.

She led the way back to the Uzumaki house, mercifully not too far from the training grounds. Please don't let Minato or Naruto be home yet. Please don't let them be home yet.
no subject
"Yeah that part is not so good. Maybe it'll stop soon?"
no subject
Almost there. Almost there. Made it! She opened the door and got no answer to her automatic "I'm home!" Another mercy.
"Alright you, sit," she ordered, pointing at the kitchen table. Then the clones were getting ordered around. "You, get the first aid kit and two bowls of warm water, one soapy. You, start making dinner. Make sure there's enough for four people. You... I think the rest of you are done. You can go."
As soon as the words left her mouth, the remaining clones vanished in a cloud of smoke. Her earlier chakra usage now spread between three. Wow... so much exhaustion she leaned slightly more heavily over the table. Maybe she used more chakra than she thought to keep up with Obito.

Crap that came out more dazed sounding than he'd intended. He needed a nap so bad.

She moved away from the table for a moment, digging around in a cabinet for a basket of rags that she brought back to the table. She set it down as she dropped into a chair. And right on cue, the requested water was delivered. Ah, and a spare bowl for the dirty water that she hadn't asked for. Perfect.
"Thanks, now do us all a favor and just rest over on the couch for a while. --Wait, no. Get tweezers first."
The clone obeyed as the real Kushina soaked a rag in the soapy water and reached out for Obito's head.
"Move your hand and lean forward."
no subject
"This sucks."
no subject
"It wasn't supposed to end like this," she finally said, realizing she'd been so quiet. "I got too carried away, forgot some of the broken branches would've gotten caught up in the whirlwind. I'm sorry I messed up your face."
Well. More than it already was. But so not rubbing that in his face. Just the soapy water.

She traded the washcloth for the just-delivered tweezers, leaning in closer to pluck out splinters, dropping them one by one into the dirty water bowl. After several were removed, she leaned back in her seat frowning.
"Go get a bright light and a needle or pin, I don't want to miss anything that might be hiding in his scars or got buried into his skin. And get a dry towel too, for later. Please. Then you can rest for a bit."
She went back to slowly examining his face for the splinters she could see until her clone returned with her requests.

He cracked open his other eye, peeking at her from the less hurt side. "And don't you talk to me about dates, I get plenty of dates. They just expect things I don't have the time to give em."
no subject
No rule saying she couldn't play armchair therapist with his love life while working. Pluck. Pluck. Pluck. A folded towel was eventually set on the table as she continued. A small flashlight was set on top with little box of pins.
"Thank you."
She paused to turn on the flashlight and focused a small amount of chakra at her temple to stick it there. Then she continued pulling out splinters and slivers with the tweezers.

"Well, that's their loss. But I can see how some shinobi might find it weird to date the current Hokage. Especially if they didn't know you as well before you took office."
She paused a moment to grab a pin and use it to dig out a tiny splinter in danger of getting pushed in entirely.
"Still, it goes back to what I said in the first place about the ones who don't understand the Hokage's schedule keeps getting altered at the drop of a hat. I've been there, I know what it's like to have plans get moved up or cancelled because some emergency came up. Yeah, it sucks, but those things happen. The same would go for any medic. But it's their loss, y'know? They don't bother getting to know a charming young man and miss out. But really, it's not that hard to do quick lunch dates or stuff like that, even if you eat in your office. You can lock your door to keep out interruptions, it has a sliding lock for a reason, y'know. Now turn the other way."
Without missing a beat, she put the tweezers above the flashlight and clamped down on the pin with her lips. Her fingers gently guided his head to the other side before reclaiming their tools once she had a good angle. A few more splinters came out before she paused to shift the flashlight to the other side of her head.
"Have you tried asking out any medics? And I don't just mean Rin only, before you say anything."
no subject
"But no, closest I got to that was flirting with Tsunade and I think we can both agree she's a little old for me. I never really much care for crashing in on people who are already way busy. Haven't actually tried to ask anyone out in months, in fact."
no subject
A soft hum, almost sounding disappointed. Or perhaps it was coincidence as she carefully dug at a splinter with her pin before plucking it out. But she forced herself to let the tweezers hang an inch above his face when he caught her off-guard. The surprise quickly turned to cackling laughter.
"You flirted with Tsunade?! She's like twenty years older than you!"
Yeah... That's all she's coming away with for the moment.
