Notes: Basically, Nagato's health has been improving lately so you'll be able to catch him out and about pretty much anywhere in the country, be it borders or around the city. He's always accompanied by his Deva path, and you might get said path first. In other words, hello, come get trolled.

Nagato had been restless lately. The months before this, it hadn't been such a worrying thing, just him consolidating his energy to reverse the damage he'd done to himself by overextending, but now... now he just wanted to be out. Out where he could interact more directly with the contact rain in his country, where he could watch his people without needing to send his paths out to do it for him...

This meant that people who had never really gotten to meet him before, in spite of having been in Ame since he'd taken control, were finally getting the chance to see him face to face, instead of simply being in contact with his paths.

He made a little noise that committed to nothing. "Then I suspect you're fully aware of whom you've ended up speaking to."

"That would certainly be one way to force a bloodline like that," Abel said on a huff of air. The idea honestly hadn't occurred to him due to the other problems that popped up with the idea. "But that does raise some questions such as how high should one be dropped from? What happens if I succeed in summoning the blood wings? What happens if I fail to sprout wings?"

He offered his lord a wry smile. "A dead shinobi wouldn't be much use to you, my lord."

"Amegakure produces the strangest of shinobi...next to Konoha, of course." She muses under her breath, being sure to dodge a branch that had been in the way of her intended path.

The look Abel was getting was speculative, and by no means negative. Just curious. Very curious. "I would be happy to help one of my shinobi learn to fly." He shifted back, then a moment later was up in the air, not even a jump just... up. He offered him his hands. "Shall we?"

I totally didn't even notice this had a mod question tacked on, whoops. But yes.

"Does it?" He looked sideways at her. "Unless you have a spy I know there is no way for you to actually know if that's true or speculation."

"I would never deign to think you would." Orile chuckled, brushing his hair back behind one ear, if only so that it was... well, less likely to stick to his face and hinder his vision. "If I know her, she'll decide halfway home to turn around and come try and spy on us, without her 'terrible monster' overseer." The second laugh was much easier, his smile broadening slightly. "What brings you out today, if I may ask?"

Abel looked at his lord in surprise before taking the offered hands. "Yes, my lord."

There was no hesitation in his actions. He trusted Nagato-Sama with his life.

Itachi nodded solemnly, but he still wondered why Nagato was escorting people out of his country. It made him wonder if this wasn't a chance meeting, and what he could have done to warrant an escort by the hidden villages leader. Hopefully it was just coincidence.

"Simply... taking turns with my own eyes. It was a long time before I started that, as I have no doubt all of my shinobi were well aware." Given that he'd avoided his own populace to the point he still wasn't really recognized even around his own people... it was a good change. They'd come to know him and recognize him beyond his Paths, now.

Nodding, he took his hands and made sure that the other man was prepared for taking his weight that way... then up into the sky they went. It was windier up there, and wetter by far, but he didn't mind, instead checking downwards and on Abel. After all, the man was likely confused at his own sense of weightlessness given how they got up here, but Nagato had no intent to explain.

"Not high enough..."

He looked sideways at him for a moment, thoughtful, then looked forward again. "You're Uchiha, aren't you?"

Abel kept his eyes focused on Nagato as they rose up in the air. He trusted his lord, but he was also trying to ignore the very empty space below his feet. He continued focusing on his breathing. He could do this. With his lord's help, he would finally master his bloodline.

He could tell Abel was trying not to panic. It was cute, sometimes, the way that his people threw themselves full tilt into their trust of him to calm themselves sometimes. Especially when he did something terrifying. It made him smile.

"When I let go, you'll be ready, won't you?"

"Yes, my lord," Abel replied without hesitation. He would be ready for whatever happened.

Even if this didn't work, there was a good possibility of it getting him closer to mastery.

It wasn't everyone who could look at him with calm dark eyes and divine that he was an Uchiha, even though he had what in Konoha would be called the 'typical' Uchiha features. Itachi nodded.

"I am." He didn't know if it made a difference to Nagato.

He spiraled them up higher, a lazy spin to distract his shinobi, and then he threw the man up and away from him. "Quickly now." And then, he let himself drop. Just in case.

"There seem to be a lot of your family lurking about my borders recently." It was a simple, easy statement, and he examined him. "Is there something of which I should be aware?"

Abel didn't yelp or shout at the fact he was suddenly air born. He briefly tensed as gravity reasserted itself on him before he turned in midair to spread out. He fell towards the ground, face down, and he could feel something just there as the blood pounded through his veins.

Just something else was needed.

He noticed, then drew a breath and formed metal in his fingers. "Abel~ Dodge." Then he was flinging the senbon-like weapons at him.

Snarling, Abel threw his arms out, using the force to twist him around in the air.

Suddenly, there was a ripple along his back before two wings of a blood red color exploded from his back, catching the air. They looked almost metallic and jagged, not at all like proper wings that would carry a man of his weight. But carry him they did, gently to the ground where he landed with a thump.

He circled him, touching down without a disturbance in the rain and wind around him as he just studied his shinobi with a thoughtful gaze, waiting to see what the price of those wings was before getting close.

Abel crouched there for a few minutes, getting use to the strange weight at his back before slowly standing up. He staggered slightly with one hand coming up to his head as a brief wave of dizziness passed over him.

"Right, need to remember that they use a lot of blood to form," Abel said with a wry grin.

He considered a moment, then reached over and put a hand on his shoulder, shoving a mess of chakra into the man to compensate for the blood loss. It wasn't the same... but it should help a little.

Abel shuddered and rose to his feet. He wasn't aware that his eyes had shifted until they were a solid red color but he frowned slightly. Poking a finger in his mouth, he discovered he suddenly had fangs.

"Well this is new," he said, a bit surprised he wasn't lisping or slurring his words. Must be connected to the wings. Fangs would definitely make getting blood easier.

Well. Okay then. He looked him over, then held out his hand, giving him a patient look. "I want to see if you have any loss of control with the new additions. I promise I can get you off me easily enough. take some blood."
