The Auction!

Okay, here is how this is going to work! We're starting these threads a whole ten days early! We have a reason for this. Due to schedules, we don't want anyone to feel left out because they couldn't be there on the exact 'day' of the auction. So, we're spreading this out over several days so everyone that wants to participate can. That way, when the IC 26th, 27th, and 28th are going, everyone will already have some idea of what their characters will actually be doing!

How the post itself will work is fairly simple though.

1: Each character whose player put them in for being auctioned will have a thread below. All male characters will have been auctioned in the morning (before noon), and thus will come before the women, who will be in the afternoon.

2: The order the threads are posted in by the mods will be the order which will have people actually auctioned! There will be notations on Player Characters noting prominent people (characters no one is playing) who got auctioned off between so that people know how fast their character spent their money, if their character would have tried to buy up any of said characters. (There's no need to buy any of said characters, mind, it's purely to fill in the gaps.)

3: Have fun! Communicate ooc! If you want a mod to come declare a thread closed, flag Skeren or Youko down so we can do a "going once, going twice, sold" on it so people know they can't roll in and bid anymore. We'll confirm everyone in the thread is actually done bidding before closing it, but all sales are final!

4: All bidding will start at 3,000 Ryo. (Please note this is less than the cheapest price a client would pay for a D-rank mission in Konoha)

[Well if it wasn't the one auction she was really looking forward to. She watches the crowd a moment, seeing who would bid on the Hokage, if anyone, to get things started.

Her hand goes up with a smooth rise.]

[She'll start small see what happens.]

[Gai is surprised that he has been beat to the punch! He spots Hinata, hidden among the crowd, only when her hand goes up for the bid. Ha! He can certainly top that, though he feels almost bad for outbidding Neji's cousin

A dramatic punch in the air.]

[The Hokage's time is worth so much more than that! ...Also, Gai still needed to find Obito a proper date, as intended, but he still has time to find them, he is sure!]

[GAH! Kushina was out to get him now! Gai flailed.]

[No! ...That was because Kushina is targeting him! Gai is sure of it! Their competition is continuing into bidding on Obito, and Gai knew it would be steep competition, but...he did not expect her!

He has plenty of money! Plenty! ...Assuming he doesn't win Neji.]

[And she may be lightening her voice a little to sound more girlish. So her next bid comes from behind another woman in the back.]

[Gah! So many people want the Hokage! ...Wait...or was that...?? Either way, Gai has to get in a bid quickly! Yeah! He will not lose this time to Kushina... or anyone!]

[And now time to jab husbando. A few whispers in his ear. "When was the last time you spent some quality time with Obito without it being about business?" So she grabs his arm and raises it high. And then she shouts out for him...]

[Now she was involving the Fourth?! Gah! How could she? Such low tactics! She is nearly as tricky as a fox Kakashi!]

[Azkadellia smiles sweetly, and when she calls out her bid, her voice is very calm. She doesn't have any of Gai's or Kushina's exuberance. The jump isn't a big one, and there is still plenty of room in her budget, but she doesn't bother increasing by ones and twos.]

20,000.

[Puzzled by the new voice, she takes a look at the woman who placed the bid. Foreigner. Well it'll cost more than 20,000 if she really wants the Hokage's time.]

23,000 ryo.

[ Psshh. Maybe if he got people to bid a lot on Obito and Konoha gets plenty for the Chuunin exams, Obito just might have enough left over to be able to allow him a village-funded upgrade on that dojo of his--

Shisui had plans, but he hadn't spoken at length about them with anyone yet. ]

[He'll probably be outbid, but maybe this Uchiha would be just as good a conversationalist as Itachi.]

[Azkadellia watches as more shinobi join the bidding. A hokage was likely to receive high bids, she assumed, and watched the earlier auctions to gauge how much most people were spending today. She ignores the twinges of anger that accompany each new person bidding, none of that reaction showing on her face.

She's just as calm as before, still smiling, when she raises the bid. Being a village leader does give one a lot of experience at making one's voice carry without resorting to a yell.]

40,00.

[Abel looked at the woman before smiling and bowing to her, withdrawing from the bidding. Too rich for his pocket.]

[This is like a terrible multi-way ping-pong match which incidentally gives Gai a good idea for a future challenge with Kakashi, but ...oh no, while he was thinking, the bids already grew incredibly high!

Still, he should have expected as much. This is the Hokage, after all. And Obito is a rather attractive man without his title, too.

Though he did not expect the mysterious woman from earlier in the week to bid so highly on Obito! Surely this was a good sign! Perhaps Obito had an admirer? ...Perhaps even a date?]

Ha! I should have known the Hokage would have such a determined [and wealthy] admirer! Perhaps you shall have a pretty lady to date after all, Obito!

Maybe I do not even need to place another bet on you!

[Though he could if necessary, but it did not appear to be necessary. Obito would have a date! Gai hardly even had to look for her! With enough determination and positive thinking, things had a way of working out as hoped!]

[Azkadellia stamps down the urge to snarl at Shisui for coming back into the bidding. Instead, she looks straight at him, civil and pleasant in spite of the hand now on one of her hips, as she calls out her next bid.]
