The Auction!
Where: Konoha, at the stadium.
When: All day May 25th.
Event Details:
Okay, here is how this is going to work! We're starting these threads a whole ten days early! We have a reason for this. Due to schedules, we don't want anyone to feel left out because they couldn't be there on the exact 'day' of the auction. So, we're spreading this out over several days so everyone that wants to participate can. That way, when the IC 26th, 27th, and 28th are going, everyone will already have some idea of what their characters will actually be doing!
How the post itself will work is fairly simple though.
1: Each character whose player put them in for being auctioned will have a thread below. All male characters will have been auctioned in the morning (before noon), and thus will come before the women, who will be in the afternoon.
2: The order the threads are posted in by the mods will be the order which will have people actually auctioned! There will be notations on Player Characters noting prominent people (characters no one is playing) who got auctioned off between so that people know how fast their character spent their money, if their character would have tried to buy up any of said characters. (There's no need to buy any of said characters, mind, it's purely to fill in the gaps.)
3: Have fun! Communicate ooc! If you want a mod to come declare a thread closed, flag Skeren or Youko down so we can do a "going once, going twice, sold" on it so people know they can't roll in and bid anymore. We'll confirm everyone in the thread is actually done bidding before closing it, but all sales are final!
4: All bidding will start at 3,000 Ryo. (Please note this is less than the cheapest price a client would pay for a D-rank mission in Konoha)

Upping the ante to about the rough equivalent of what a single shinobi might get from a regular C-rank mission. Not bad, and he probably won't contest much more. It's a decent starting amount to inflate Kushina's price to reasonable levels.

He'd already used up far too much of his money buying his own brother's time, though, and if he were going to participate in this ridiculous business then he needed to benefit from it somehow as well.

The Hyuuga briefly considered his bid on Gai, and the maximum he'd allowed himself to spend.
"15,000 ryo." It would be his last bid as his hard limit for one person, but by raising it by a larger sum, it made him look serious. If Uchiha wanted Kushina's time, he'd make sure he paid for it.

... still. It wouldn't look good if he bowed out when bidding against a Hyuuga; who knew if people wouldn't start whispering about how even the son of the Uchiha clan head couldn't afford to participate in the village auction?
Gritting his teeth in annoyance, he folded his arms and called out: "16,000 ryo."

And there was a different shinobi he really wanted to win, so given that Sasuke didn't look like he'd be swayed into much higher price brackets, Neji tipped his head and turned to weave back through the crowd.
