Sephiroth knew people were following him after he left. After all, he'd made quite the spectacle of himself. So he slowed his steps, and wove his way throught he allowed parts of the village for visitors... and waited to see who caught up to him first.

"I went from something with your general status and problems to this." He indicated himself, looking irritated. "It was a problem at the time."

"Transitionally, that had to be very frustrating." Ami agreed, because that seemed rather obvious. "But the current you versus the previous you has more physical advantages, yes?"

[silverterror]

"Quite. It's also very removed from any birth circumstances." He gave her a pointed look at that.

[thelittleprincess]

"Really?" There was no hiding the interest and eagerness that entered her eyes, before it was swiftly and resolutely stamped out. "...ah, but that sort of thing is the type that villages keep to themselves, isn't it?"

[silverterror]

"Hmph. It's just puberty, hardly a personal thing." He shook his head slightly. "Thus hardly a secret."

"Oh." she had thought, if for a brief moment, that he had been offhandedly referring to some sort of super soldier serum instead, which would have been much more interesting. "Not much to look forward to."

"More than you probably assume." No, he was just the result of mixing bloodlines that had no business in the same person, that's all.

"I have yet to see one good example of hormones not being a terrible and tragic affliction." Even Adela's case, moderate as it was, still made her wary.

"Nor will you, but without them you get no benefits." He shook his head slightly.

She wrinkled her nose in distaste, but refrained from whining about the unfairness of it all. "...can I ask an unrelated question?" she wanted to know, after a brief bout of hesitation.

"I might choose not to answer." He was looking at her though.

That seemed fair. "How...do you keep your hair out of the way when you fight?" She fingered her own lengthy locks in thought. Long hair could be used as a trap to lure an opponent into close quarters, but his was long even for that.

"Speed." It was a simple point, and he tilted his head, easily shrugging his hair back from his light lean. "Practice."

"Got it." That was...somewhat of a relief, really. She had been working on those angles for that problem already, and seeing that the ideal end result was possible was actually very encouraging.

He fell quiet then, simply walking and examining wares as he let her process her thoughts. He had nothing he needed to say.

It was nice, not having to worry about forcing the conversation along, for the simple sake of pleasantries. Her eyes followed his gaze a couple times, but she didn't interrupt or offer suggestions. She didn't know his tastes, or what sights he might want to see, after all.

He studied her thoughtfully as he came to halt at one of the eateries, then tilted his head. "Snack?"

"...they have good chicken karaage here," Ami said, which was a ringing endorsement on her end. Marinated and fried meat seemed to be a universal hit, in her experience, and the baskets weren't very large at all if you split them.

He nodded once, then went off to order one, paying for it without even a glance at her then going over so he could sit and set it between himself and the other chair at the small table.

She heaved herself up onto the seat, not protesting the generosity. She could protest about fairness and not accepting charity from strangers, but if he had wanted her to pay then she thought he would have asked in the first place. She dug around in her large bag and pulled out two cans of juice—gifts from two of the auction committee members who had thought she was 'just the cutest thing'.

She could at least offer that much without insulting him, she thought.

He looked to the drinks, then reached and took one without a word to open and sip, seeming to evaluate its worthiness before taking a more proper sip. "Acceptable."

"Mm. This brand isn't bad." Not too watery, not too saccharine. Still a bit more syrup than actual juice, formula-wise, but it went down smooth and didn't leave a sour aftertaste the way some might. Her cousin liked the brand, which was why she had gotten two, but it worked out this way as well. "...Are there any other places you want to see while you're in the village?"

"Weapon and supplies. I'm curious what this village has for quality." His tone was low, a murmur, and he nibbled on the food.

"The more elite forges are off limits to outsiders without special suspensions, I think." Ami munched on a piece of chinken as well, small cheeks bulging slightly as she chewed. "But the standard to above-average stuff is open."

[silverterror]

"I don't expect to be allowed access to secrets. Relative comparisons are easy enough in any case." He shook his head, then took another long draw of the juice.
