Sephiroth knew people were following him after he left. After all, he'd made quite the spectacle of himself. So he slowed his steps, and wove his way throught he allowed parts of the village for visitors... and waited to see who caught up to him first.

"Who else would I blame?" He tilted his head, looking at him as though this should have been obvious. "When she left, she was the age I'd been when I'd been chunin a year. More than adequate to make her own choices."

Sasuke had heard of it -- the way the Mist pushed children far too young through its exams and onto the battlefield, commanders not even old enough to sign their name to a legal document. Frankly, he'd seen too many shinobi older than him and unqualified to lead ducklings across the street to hold any stock in the Mist's methods, though perhaps he'd also spent too much time with Obito.

"So you -- what, expect her to return to the Mist now that she's become a Konoha-nin?"

"Of course not." The look he gave him at that was vaguely scornful. "I expected her to not leave in the first place."

Sasuke had to resist the urge to roll his eyes, reminding himself that this was a foreign shinobi -- and with the complete confidence in the man's stance, one not to be trifled with -- and instead kept his tone level.

"Obviously that hasn't happened. So now you're following her around to bother her?"

"No. Last time she saw me, she crossed my path, and this time." He lifted a shoulder in a shrug. He had no reason to explain.

And this time was an event of international cooperation where shinobi of all villages would be hard-pressed to avoid each other if they weren't seeking someone out. Sasuke's frown didn't lessen, even if it seemed as if there were no malicious intentions for the immediate future happening, mostly because that fact meant that he had no grounds to hold a foreign shinobi.

Finally, glare mutinous, he stepped aside.

"Adela has always been prone to misunderstanding subtleties." He looked at the boy, then swept by, clearly finished with him. "Take care that you understand that she doesn't misunderstand yours."
