Who: Sasuke and Gai and YOUTH
Where: Med station for the Chuunin exams
When: June 7th, during the exams
What: Sasuke is annoyed because he's been blown off by one of his sometimes-teachers, and runs into the very person said sometimes-teacher recommended.
Status: For Gai, but anyone who wants to stop by the med station is welcome!

It probably wasn't fair to be annoyed with Kakashi when Sasuke himself had been annoyed by his Chuunin exam duties only yesterday, but there were really only so many excuses he could listen to before he began to fervently wish for a straight answer of nope, too busy. This time, though, his request for taijutsu had led to the new development of nope, look for Gai.

It wasn't as if Sasuke had never heard of Maito Gai -- it was hard not to hear Gai, period -- but he had no formal introduction to the man and highly doubted that anyone would welcome a sudden request for training in the middle of exams.

So it was that he was in yet another poor mood, packing unhappy genin into bandages and splints and out of the med tent without any particular grace.

Who: Sakura Haruno and Sasuke Uchiha
Where: Between Konoha and Nadeshiko Village, mostly onna boat.
When: June 13th - 20th during the break in the Chuunin exams.
Notes: In the break between chuunin exams the two dumb chuunin snag a genin level mission just for a breath for fresh, seasalt air.

She hadn't planned on any missions during the exams, usually there weren't many to be had during the exams for obvious reasons. Even this one had been unexpected: the Nadeshiko nin (were they genin if they didn't have chuunin exams?) were originally going to return with the Nadeshiko nin who brought them, but that woman had to return suddenly in some emergency at the village. Walking the young girls back home (and sailing) was a rushed mission, but not a very difficult one all the same.

Mostly, she'd pounced on the sudden mission just because if the cooler weather usually associated with the land of water. But...the quiet a mission at sea promised also decided it.

On the bright side, if she had to share the mission with anyone, Sasuke Uchiha was probably one of the only people who wouldn't negate the benefit of 'quiet'. He may have been the least appropriate partner for 'relaxing', though. One thing she'd learned under Shirakumo was her own limits. A week trapped in close proximity to Sasuke Uchiha would be uncomfortable the entire time.

She still wasn't willing to give up on the mission.

Which explained why she was stuck on the deck of a c-rank boat, watching a trio of young kunoichi quietly take about potential partners found in the prospective chuunin, doing her best to ignore the Uchiha standing not that far from her. It wasn't like she'd been ignoring him the whole mission, but when they were on foot, there was always something pertinent to say to him. On small boat, though...

She frowned faintly at the trio of girls speaking. A village where romance and worrying over thing like boys was actually considered a top priority for the girls raised and trained in it.

It sounded terrible...in a village like that, what would have become of her? Nothing, probably. She would have faded away into nothing, as she'd expected to when she first become Shirakumo's student, never found a purpose or a use for herself.

But...that was probably only her. The women of that village didn't likely have any of that trouble.

She shook her head slightly, and turned away from the ground, looking out at the water around them instead. "How many days trip is it at sea?"

Yes, there, she had this talking to pass the time thing down. Not awkward at all.
