Who: Adela Milani (

Where: Konohagakure
What: Adela has reached the end date of her leave, and an important decision has come during the time off. Whether it is with a curious friend or with the Hokage himself, Adela is going to announce her plans and take the first true step towards her goals.

It was... Strange. She felt so calm then, more sure of herself than she suspected she ever had in her life. There wasn't anything special about that day, apart from it being ridiculously hot out (though that was normal for Konoha's summers). The exams were done, and although she had heard whispers about tensions rising between the ninja nations, there was something she knew she could do about it. The question was how the Hokage himself would take it.

At some point she stopped to get some iced coffee, sighing at the slightly bitter beverage as she shaded herself from the sun. The meeting with the Hokage wouldn't happen for a little while yet, so she could afford the stop, but... What would everyone think of her new goal? Of the ambition she had given herself to keep going, when she had failed so much before?

No. It was because she had failed so much before that she felt she could do this now. She could at least start, and find her strength her own way. Even so, there were probably a few people she'd have to talk to first - about everything.

"I don't understand." Leaning forward she tries to catch Adela's gaze. Her brows furrowed quizzically. Who is she supposed to be dating now?

"I'm very much not dating anyone currently."

"... I've heard stuff about you and Senpai," She blinked hard at Hinata, confused at the statement. Just what was Hinata saying, then? That they weren't...?

She blinks and pulls back, wincing slightly at how it sent a jolt of pain through her abdomen. They really need to do something about those rumors. "Sasuke and I aren't involved." She says it firmly, giving Adela a sympathetic look as a thought crosses her mind.

"We're really more like siblings to each other." Hopefully that will help explain away a decent chunk of their behavior.

"... Huh. Seems like half the village thinks you're dating," She shrugged, going a little pink as she glanced determinedly at her drink. Okay that topic was getting more than a little embarrassing then, and she'd rather... Drop it.

Besides, that was far from the only thing she had to worry about...

"Half the village really likes its gossip and rumors." She shrugs. What else is there to say about it?

"You like him, don't you?"

"... Doesn't matter," Again Adela was shaking her head, focusing intently on her drink even as it was starting to freeze her hands a little. The condensation felt nice. Kind of. Noooo she couldn't get worked up before her meeting with the Hokage...!

"Besides, it's not like he feels the same way."

"Oh. I'm sorry." She places a hand lightly on Adela's shoulder and gives it a light squeeze before pulling it back. She isn't going to press the subject any further.

She sits silent for a moment, leaning heavily against the back of the bench. Hinata watches Adela, they way she's still leaning over her coffee. The girl still looks pre-occupied with whatever else is on her mind. "Is there anything I can do to help, Milani-san?"

"No, don't worry about it. M'just thinking about a meeting I have later today," That was... Kind of weird. She didn't expect Hinata to touch her, or to give her sympathy over Sasuke's rejection. Strange, but not entirely unwelcome. Well, whatever.

"It's something important."

"Okay," she murmurs chewing on her lower lip. She wasn't sure what else what to say to the younger shinobi. But her sympathy was very real. She felt bad that Sasuke rejected her, especially knowing that he didn't have his eye on any other girl in the village.

"I can tell," the way Adela was distracted only served to telegraph that fact. "Do you want to talk about it?"

"It's something I need to talk to the Hokage about first. Depending on what he says about it, it might not matter at all."

She tilts her head, "I hope it goes well. The Hokage should be able to help you figure things out further if necessary." She digs the toes of her sandal into the dirt.

"I dunno if he will or not. The only way I'm gonna find out is when I meet him," Adela ended up sighing again, slumping a bit against the table as she took another sip of her drink. Why did Hinata even care...?

"He'll help if he can." That was one of the things she liked a great deal about their Hokage. He helped as much as possible where he could.

"Whatever the outcome, I hope you find what you need." Which is the closest she can come to conveying that she is concerned for the girl, without using so many of those tired platitudes. It didn't seem like it would help Adela where her head was currently at. And explaining that she would like to be friends in this moment didn't seem like it would help anything. She could only imagine that it might put Adela under more stress.

"I hope so too, though how likely that is isn't something I can tell," Again Adela shook her head, trying to relax as she tried to think over exactly what she'd say. How she'd go about it, how she'd talk to the Hokage... She had to be ready, whatever would come.

"I wouldn't worry, he'll listen to whatever you have to say." Because their Hokage cared a great deal about his subordinates and would listen to whatever she had to say.

"I know he'll listen, it's how he'll react that I'm worried about."

She pats the girl on the shoulder and smiles. "Whatever it is, he'll take it in stride. There's very little that can be said or done that will upset him."

"... Normally that'd be true. This is kinda big, though," She shook her head, shoulders slumping under Hinata's grip as she glanced down at her coffee again. It was almost empty... She kind of wanted another one.

"It's not something I should go spreading around either, not until I know his thoughts on it. It'd just be disrespectful to him as Hokage if I did."

"He's good with big, don't worry too much about it. Yondaime wouldn't have picked him if he couldn't." She wishes she could do something to make Adela feel better about whatever she needed to share with the Hokage. But she figures the best she can do is talk up Obito's ability to take whatever she's about to throw at him.

"That's alright, I understand."

"... We'll see. I've still got some time before the meeting's supposed to happen, so I can think of how to word it at least," Adela ended up murmuring, her lips tugging into a thoughtful frown as she swished around the remnants of her iced coffee in her cup. It'd be difficult, but not impossible, to get her point across. She'd be able to do it, probably... No. She had to be more confident than that. Definitely.

She'd definitely do it.

She smiles and stands slowly so as not to hurt herself. "I'll leave you alone so you can figure out what you would like to say to Hokage-sama. Good luck Milani-san."

"... Thanks," She only replied with a nod, watching Hinata carefully out of the corner of her eye before going back to her drink. Doubting herself wasn't an option, and... Hearing the encouragement from Hinata was kinda helpful. Kind of.
