Harvest Festival!

Welcome everyone to the first Harvest Festival of the season! All are invited, be they civilian, shinobi, or samurai, so long as they have money to spend!

The event is rather simple, and was organized by the Fire Daimyo on the Northwestern border of the country, an hour away from the nearest seal point and within a good shinobi's throw's distance of Ame. Travel to and from this should be rather simple, and anyone is welcome to drop in and mingle.

The days of the event are the 22nd until the 29th, and there will be a series of small cooking competitions (pumpkin use, BBQ, desserts, deep fried, jams, noodles, rice dishes, and lunch food) with one happening each morning for those who wish to put in an entry (or judge). There will also be eating competitions in the late afternoon for various things.

There will be a great many people coming through selling their wares, largely food related, but it's a good place to stop by and socialize!

Anyone is allowed to man the NPC journal for this and be a civilian or a competitor for the characters who are being played by their players. The goal here is to have fun, so let's do this thing!

"Right?" She isn't sure if she should consider that reassuring or disturbing so for the moment she's going to learn toward just not knowing.

Hi amusement only seemed to grow at her reaction. "It's alright if you have no idea what to say."

She laughs a little awkwardly, because she didn't think she'd been that transparent. At least not to someone who doesn't know her. "Sorry."

"Not at all. I wasn't attempting to put you off your victory." He lifted his hands in a quelling gesture.

[gentledheart]

"You didn't." She doesn't feel much like celebrating after putting away that much soup. "My celebration is mostly going to involve walking if you would like to join me?"

He gave a soft laugh and inclined his head to her. "Of course. I would not turn down such an offer."

[gentledheart]

She smiles. "I'm glad, I'm happy for the company."

[teachingpeace]

He turned slightly, falling into step beside her. "Yes, there are a great many friendly people here."

[gentledheart]

She tilts her head, "It's a happy time, shouldn't people be friendly for such an event?" Harvest was good for everyone after all, especially if it was a good crop this year.

He blinked, then gave her a faint, shy smile as he dipped his head. "I suppose that is so."

"It's nice seeing everyone coming together like this to celebrate." And she means that, even if it does sound kind of naive.

[teachingpeace]

"It's not something that happens often on this side of my country, I must admit. Usually the harvest festivals are further north where I can't risk the travel."

[gentledheart]

"That's sad," she murmurs. As much as she loves Konoha the trips away were nice when they came up. She couldn't imagine having to stay away from certain places because of risks to her person. "I'm glad it was somewhere you could attend this year."

"A am I. It's nice to be able to venture out without too much worry." He shook his head slightly. "And to meet new people, of course."

[gentledheart]

She grins, "It's nice to meet new people." Especially when years ago she would have been petrified at the very thought of speaking to someone she didn't know and only just met because she'd won an eating contest. "I usually find myself watching the other festival goers."

"This is the first festival I've attended outside my native country, so I've done very little proper interacting myself." He nodded once. "I understand the sentiment."

[gentledheart]

"Oh. Then I'm honored that you picked me." And she is, it isn't something she would just say because it sounded like the right thing to say. Her smile genuine as she turned it once more on her companion. "I'm Hyuuga Hinata, it's nice to meet you."

[teachingpeace]

He inclined his head to her in turn. "Nagato. It's an honor to make your acquaintance."

[gentledheart]

Hinata smiles and nods, pleased that she had a name to accompany the kind young man she'd met. Though she doesn't say anything else for a few moments, instead focused on their continued journey through the streets.

He was satisfied with her silence, and honestly didn't know what else he could say himself. so he didn't try, just ambling alongside.
