Little Market Trip [closed]

Where: Konoha coffee house
When: September 27th
Notes: Finally restocking the kitchen! Mika asked Shisui to help in exchange for her cooking... Whether that was a good idea will be seen.

Having a fridge full of forgotten, rotting food isn't something anyone wants to come back to. At least Mika didn't have a lot to throw out, the frozen items seem fine if a little old. With most of her kitchen cleared out and no long term missions for the next few weeks Mika figures a trip to the market is needed. Awful nice of Shisui to come along, she had offered him a meal for his help.

Being so busy and secluded in her work and hobbies, Mika values the people that become her friend. So inviting them to do menial tasks is her way of saying so. Isn't that what friends are for? So she sits and waits at her favorite coffee house, a cup of rich black coffee in hand. Mika never takes it with cream or sugar, hates the stuff. In fact Mika doesn't like sweets much, too fattening. So Shisui better not try to get some confections on this trip, Mika is going to end up baking cakes otherwise. Strange that, a woman who doesn't like sweets but enjoys making them.

A few protein bars are stashed in her bag in case of hunger, hungry shopping was dangerous after all. Just as she begins fingering the cover of one bar that familiar curly black hair seems to appear out of thin air. She always notices the hair first. Then the voice as Shisui catches her eye. She responds to his greeting with a pinky wave as the coffee mug touches her lips again. Good timing, she's getting down to the dregs of her drink.

This is exactly why Shisui had sort of hinted at her to maybe invite him over for dinner or something, so she could get rid of all of that food before her mission. Except he supposed the hints didn't come out strong enough, and he missed out on all those would-be dinners. Sad day...

But he most certainly did agree to helping her restock her pantry, not just for the promise of a home-cooked meal afterwards, but also because it would give him the opportunity to catch up with her and maybe ask her a few pertinent questions on things that were bugging him lately. He didn't think he intended on divulging too much, but she was a valuable resource, and dependable too-- So yes. He was definitely not missing this opportunity.

And as for cakes-- he was going to persuade her to get stuff for cake. For dessert! He'd help make it. And she didn't have to eat it? ...He could do that himself if she was worried about getting pudgy, ahem~

As it were, he waves at her. "How long has it been?" Too long; he'd badly wanted to meet with her earlier about urgent matters. That, and he'd missed his friend. "And what do the strawberries look like?" In her fridge, that is. Do they look like Santa Claus?

Shisui was grinning.

Well, yeah-- Miss I-didn't-take-a-hint! He missed out on all those free dinners because he was being too subtle. Heh. As for Shisui using the trip to get out of paperwork-- no. No, he's been good lately. He's actually been assigned a more interesting topic to be researching and his house is out of bounds to the general public, as a result.

If they do make a cake, Shisui will eat all of it! No remorse, either. He would offer at first, of course, but if Mika was going to go on about how fat it would make her, then he would eat it in front of her and reinforce the fact that she shouldn't have a crumb because it most definitely would make her fat. Just remember that trying to diet with a guy in the house is never usually the best way to do things-- You have been warned~?

"Almost! That was quite a long trip you were on. Was it a trip or a mission, though?" Not that he could differentiate. Her excursions always seemed like loads of fun. As for confused feelings-- best keep those to herself; he's been having to go trough a ton of other confused feelings with quite a few people here in Konoha. All of them underaged.

"Oh hey, give them a few weeks and they'd start looking like Kiwis." Eugh. Rotten strawberries.

...As for Shisui's smile being infectious, he wished that were true with some people. "Yup! As ready as ever. And how long is that list-- do we need an extra bag just to put it in?" Teasing, of course. ...It wasn't that long, was it?
