The Year End Party | Dec 31st | [Open to Konoha]

Where: Rooftop of Mika's apartment complex
Note: Guests are expected to bring a small gift and a refreshment or dish. Food is provided by the host.~


No one can say that Mika was a bad host. She'd gone to great lengths for this party having cooked a ridiculous amount of pastries and ordering several bottles of sake to serve hot on this chilly night. The grill was on high and the meats were all carefully arranged on a table separate from the other foods. Small lanterns were strung up around the tables for ambiance. As the final touches were completed people slowly trickled up to the party. They'd notice the table of sweets first thanks to one of Mika's greatest accomplishments in baking.

A five tiered cake in alternating flavors of vanilla and chocolate! Each layer had a complimentary fruit garnishing it atop a rich ganache frosting. Probably the most decadent cake many would eat that year.

"Really? I'm glad you're having a good time at least! I know people are busy so I didn't expect so many to still be around this late actually." Mika poked her head up a bit more. The coast was clear, for now.

"Well, you asked us to set time aside for the party, so unless an emergency happens it'd be rude to skip out early, wouldn't it?" Adela just blinked, confused and still unsure about being used as a human shield. Well, it seemed like whoever Mika was hiding from was gone now, at least.

"...I did." She hadn't expected people to be so strict on parties. So Mika laughed a little while straightening to her full height. Safe for now. "It's no big deal if you want to leave early though, I know most people are still busy even at this time of year."

"Well... I don't really know a lot've people here that well, not who I see regularly," A frown tugged at her lips as she felt herself flush a little, and she raised a hand to scratch at her cheek as she just tried to relax herself a bit.

"Oh! Now's a good time to meet and mingle then." It could be hard fitting in when you weren't born and raised in a place like this. Her grandma had a hard time when she arrived with Mika's mother all those years ago. "I could introduce you to some of my friends if you like." Many of them were in the smithing business in fact.

"Uh... I dunno, I mean, I..." She was struggling to find the words to say that she didn't really want to mingle, and really the only reason she didn't skip out early was because she knew it would be rude. But... Damn it, Mika really was putting on the spot. It had her on edge, nervous, and blushing a little bit as she tried to glance away.

"Don't put yourself out for me, I'm okay. M'not that interesting of a person anyway."

"...you okay dear?" Mika had to admit the blush was rather fetching, she didn't realize how shy the other girl could be. She's rather have the truth than let Adela suffer. "Do you want anything? Maybe some punch?" The hopefully not spiked punch.

"Fine! I'm fine, just... I'm fine," Adela shook her head, glancing away from Mika as she said so. except she wasn't fine, she wanted to disappear more than anything then...

...yeah she didn't seem okay. Mika wondered if Adela got anxious around people like her brother did. He never liked big crowds. "You can sit down, there aren't many people by the fireworks yet." Mika definitely didn't want someone forcing themselves to be at her party.
