Student Evaluation Time

When: About two years ago, after the chunin results were in.
Notes: Closed to Hinata and Sasuke. Who are to be drunk celebrating with their sensei.


Obito had gotten the idea in his head, but it wasn't frivolous. If anything, he had an entirely practical reason for wanting to get the two trashed.

It was because they were his students, and honestly, getting someone drunk was the easiest way to interrogate some people. Being students of the Hokage meant that them being out on mission and unprepared for that? No good. Better he know exactly what they'd deal with in the world so that he could prepare them for it.

Still, he could hardly do it at his house, people would look at him strangely, Hyuuga heir and all, and no way was he doing it at their places. So. Bar.

Which means he was currently on Sasuke's doorstep chatting with Mikoto as he waited for the boy to come out. He hadn't told him why he was coming to get him, just that it was a celebration for Hinata making Chunin. Once he had Sasuke, they'd go get said girl, and then they'd see just what was to be done here.

"Many diplomats in other countries tend to get into Sake and the like when doing negotiations if they draw out far enough. THere's no guarantee you won't need to have endurance, or an idea of what you should do in such a situation. I'll make sure you know. I want to be prepared, don't you?"

It's hard to argue with that reasoning, though Sasuke stares mutinously for a long moment before subsiding into the dregs of his glass. There's a heat beginning around his temples and edges of his forehead; he's not sure if it's the alcohol or not, but it's somewhat discomfiting.

"As long as you don't put Hinata on seduction missions," he grouches, then adds: "Or any of us."

Not that he can imagine Naruto on any seduction mission except a disastrous one.

Hinata was in the middle of finishing her drink only to choke on it when Sasuke starts grousing. Her cheeks flaming red in embarrassment. She can't look at her best friend or her sensei, right now. She knew the missions were a possibility in her future, but she'd really rather they move on to any topic but this one.

"Um can I have another?" she asks her voice a little hoarse.

Obito immediately set about making her another drink in the range she seemed to like, but his eyes were on Sasuke. He was solemn.

"Honestly Sasuke? Between the two of you, you'd be the one more likely to ever go on a mission like that. However, missions of that nature are always voluntary in Konoha. They're never assigned to someone who hasn't taken the training to do it, which I don't expect either of you to commit to any day soon."

He gave Hinata her drink, then checked how she was doing, examining her to see how deep into tipsy she was. Satisfied, he set about making another of Sasuke's next.

That piece of information made glance up from his glass with an expression that was as alarmed as it was confused. The sudden switch in focus made his vision blur a little, the beginnings of chakra sluggishly gathering around his eyes before he forced it down -- it was instinct by now to correct for his eyes not being able to keep up with something.

Too bad that something seemed to be everything, kind of. Sasuke blinked several times to bring Obito into focus, but then enunciated with care:

"What? Isn't it always kunoichi who end up on those sorts of missions?"

Obito looked at Sasuke for a long moment, evaluating his expression carefully. How to break this to him? Because that was a serious bit of misinformation that he was glad to perpetuate outside the village.

"Not everyone likes women Sasuke."
