[closed] Birthday's mean presents and sweets

Who: Hinata and Obito.
When: February 10th, morning.
Where: Hokage’s office.
What: Bringing him a present and a snack.


Unlike last year, Hinata didn’t plan a surprise party for Obito. Mostly because this year her partner in crime was busy and therefore fairly unavailable for the planning, but at the very least Hinata could bring her sensei his present and a small treat she’d cooked up herself. She’d rather take him out to an actual meal but it was early still for lunch and she was sure he’d eaten breakfast before leaving his apartment.

She carried a bag inside of which was a container with two danishes and a small wrapped gift inside which was an inscribed silver charm on one side was the word patience and on the other the word luck. Both valuable to negotiating and she was fairly certain he would get the idea behind them. And it was made to be easily attached to just about anything Obito wanted to.

Arriving at his office door she knocked and waited to be invited in.

"Just because I didn't bring them to your attention doesn't mean I didn't deal with them, so don't worry." He looked her in the eye and leaned in, flashing her a brilliant smile. "Nothing less than the best for my students."

"Is that why you keep pushing for me to be faster?" Well that and making her pick up learning a weapon of some kind.

"I push for you to be faster because I know you can keep up with me. With enough practice anyway."

"And I'm not as fast as Sasuke or Naruto." She knows that very well.

"No, but you have more flexibility than them both together." He shook his head at her. "Not something to underestimate, that."

[gentledheart]

"I don't usually. Other people do." She flashes him a huge grin.

He laughed and inclined his head. "True. I'm glad you use that Hinata."

[gentledheart]

She'd be a very poor shinobi if she didn't use her natural talents to her advantage. "You taught me well."

"I did my best but the work was all you." He put his chin in his hand, peeking up at her. Then he made a face at his desk. "Does it being my birthday mean I can pretend this work isn't here?"

[gentledheart]

"I'm not sure the work would have happened if someone else had been my sensei."

She shrugs. "You could, I'm not sure the village will collapse without you, but I think your assistants might have a couple heart attacks if you don't."

He pouted at her answer, then sighed, dragging something over to start looking through. "I dunno, you're a hard worker naturally, I think you would have been amazing no matter what."

[gentledheart]

"Maybe. There's no way to know for sure."

[thebestuchiha]

He stared at her for a moment, then laughed. "Well, if you're going to pull that card, then okay I conceed. A little."
