"Not too long. I thought you might see me." He waved absently at his face. "You seemed pretty in tune and all."

[gentledheart]

She might have in the peripheral, an awareness that he was watching that was quickly replaced by her focus on her task. Sometimes seeing everything meant you tuned a great deal out, it was an unfortunate side-effect. "I might have."

He watched her a moment at that, then burst out into laughter. "Ah, the Byakugan strikes again huh?"

She flushes, pouting a little as her gaze shifts to the side. "Yeah I guess it does."

He grinned at her and moved over to put his hand on her head. "Don't feel bad."

[gentledheart]

"I'll try." She ducks her head and steps a little away. "How much did you see?"

"I saw part of some nifty maneuver but I think I missed a bit of it. Care to walk me through it or have I ruined the surprise?" He dropped his hand, amused at the tacit dodge.

[gentledheart]

"I've mentioned I was working on something. The shrouds are a derivation meant to take advantage of my own flexibility and chakra control." With a little focus she expels chakra out to cover her hand again, the face of a lion forming over her knuckles.

He tilted his head, peering at the chakra as she made it visible, and let out a soft little laugh. "What do you plan to name it?"

[gentledheart]

She shrugs, "I haven't decided yet. Something with lions feels appropriate."

"Just don't let Sensei know you haven't named it. He'll give you a novel and call it a name. A cheesy, horrible novel at that." He wrinkled up his nose. "He tried to name an attack once in my hearing. It was something to the degree of 'vibrant fire immolating death in the light of ponies' or something. Just. Longer. So much longer."

"Was he now?" She laughs, "That's a little worrisome. I'll have to come up with a name immediately."

[thebestuchiha]

"Best for you to do that." He laughed and shook his head. "I wouldn't want him to know if I were you."

[gentledheart]

She takes a moment to think a moment and shrugs. "Gentle Step Twin Lion Fists," she finally says with a nod.

He blinked a couple times, then just laughed. "Nice. I didn't think he'd just appear to name it on you buuut... problem solved!" He looked around the training field, then back to her. "So. I'm guessing you wanting to show me means you're up to using it in a fight?"

[gentledheart]

Well she hadn't really expected him to show either, but the name had just sort of rolled off the tongue before she could think better of it. "I had thought it would be worth trying it. If's better than sparring against thin air."

He laughed and then moved over to settle into a stance. There was a grin on his lips. "Come on then."

He was always happy to see what his students could do... and frustrate them half to death playing keep away too, of course.

She tilts her head and shrugs. If he insists. Though he hopefully remembers the last time he frustrated her half to death. She raises her hands and charges forward, ready to strike though she fully expects it not to connect.

It was easy to fall into the rhythm of practice, having long ago learned to read her motions, though she was faster than last time they practiced, and there was a fleeting moment of sadness he'd been too busy to notice her improvements sooner. He didn't talk though, giving her that much respect as he focused fully on just not letting a hit land, or near land, and worked on finding a hole in her defenses of any kind.
