Gai had been working on his resolutions, first in anticipation of what to write to his father on the lantern, and now in preparation of the New Year. Usually, most of Gai's resolutions were focused solely on himself, and nearly all of them were things he had control over the outcome, but sometimes...sometimes they were things he required another person for.

☐ Be a better boyfriend.

To be honest, he wasn't sure how to be that, but he was definitely going to try. His resolution list in his notebook at home included self-suggestions on how to improve:

      • invest in more time with them
      • behave do not intrude on matters that do not concern you (they do not all concern you)
      • be more affectionate
      • say 'I love you' more often
      • hold their hands
      • strive to learn something new about them each time you see them
      • more challenges
      • be nicer to Yamato their friends
      • take them out on dates/excusions/lunches
      • renew kissing practice?

And it was that last one that had Gai here now, because while the ball was in his court for most of the others, kissing practice was something Obito had to want again too. They hadn't exactly done much of that since becoming boyfriends and he felt a little selfish wanting that back so badly. After all, kissing was not all he saw in Obito and he did not want his friend to think that was all he was here for, but...

He missed it. Kissing Obito had been like challenging Kakashi: a perfect excuse for being together. And kissing Obito had been really, really wonderful, too. He made Gai's heart flutter with excitement, took his breath away--

Surely Obito, who liked kissing people and flirting with people and all of that, would want kissing practice back, right? That was what he hoped, at least.

Gai knocked on the door to Obito's office and then peeked in. "Hokage-sama! When you are not busy, may I speak to you about something personal?"

One hand slid up, tangling securely in Gai's hair instead of trying to talk anymore, and he leaned up into that kiss. It was enough to reignite his interest in something more intense, and he shifted back, giving a full body rub of his back against Gai's front.

He deepened the kiss as Obito shifted against him, stirring inside him again something that had Gai pressing into him and muffling a groan into the kiss. He hadn't anticipated how good that would feel, and his hands wandered down over the front of Obito's pants, rubbing him before pulling their bodies together again.

He sucked in a sharp breath and groaned, body trying to respond to that immediately, which just reminded him that his pants weren't completely clean from earlier. He squirmed away from the kiss, giving him a lopsided smile of apology before speaking breathlessly. "Okay get those off."

"With pleasure." Gai's dismay at Obito wriggling free was replaced with a desire fueled reminder that yes, clothing off would be ideal. He eyed Obito, then started with Obito's pants, fingers eagerly making short work of the clasp in front, touching more than necessary as he helped the pants down Obito's hips and backside.

He made a little noise of amusement as he sort of had a difficulty on the wrapping at his thigh where his kunai pouch was. "Okay, not going to work from this angle." He pulled away carefully, then pivoted in place to drop down and sit his bare backside on the bed. "This way?"

Gai gave a frustrated grunt. It was different undressing someone else. So easy in one's haste to forget the reality of their clothing. This was nothing like Gai assumed it to be.

It was better, though, and when Obito sat down, Gai knelt in front of him, starting anew with his undressing approach, diligent in his task. He began with the wraps at Obito's calves, undoing the bandages slowly, one leg at a time, caressing Obito's skin as he worked.

"You are proving to be quite the challenge to woo, Obito!" Gai teased.

"I think we're a little past wooing if you're taking my clothes off." He laughed and leaned forward. "Let me know if you want any help speeding up the process mmmm?"

"I will never be done with wooing you! Now be patient!" He scolded him with a light tap on the nose and then went about finishing up those wraps and started loosening the wraps on Obito's thigh. They would hardly come off with Obito still sitting. "I may require your assistance now."

He flashed him a little smirk, then tipped over backward onto the bed. "I'm guessing that was what you needed?"

He wiggled his toes at him.

It was cute, sexy, and so very Obito. Gai laughed and tugged at the legs of Obito's pants, then, with a devilish grin of his own, tickled his feet.

He twitched back away from his tickling fingers with a startled noise, then kicked the pants the rest of the way off. "Rude!"

He sat back up as soon as his lower half was bare and presented Gai with his wrists.

Gai's grin was too strong to back down from the scolding.

Half-naked Obito was very distracting, but Gai focused on unclasping the armor guarding Obito's arms. "How do you move in all of this clothing?"

"Hey! I happen to be perfectly coordinated with all this, and the robe too! And sometimes my vest too. Usually not the vest though, that's kind of stiff for non-armor situations." He grinned, shaking his head at him.

"I am all for you wearing such protectives, but you should forgo all this and wear a spandex suit! It is more aerodynamic and will not restrict your movement as much!"

"But I wore spandex for a while remember? I think that was just fine." He shook his head at him. "Not really my style you remember?"

"I do remember, but I also remember liking you in it, regardless!" He finished with the armor pieces and slid his hands under Obito's shirt, pulling it up.

He lifted his hands, letting him get the material off him, leaving him bare since he could feel the armor mesh going with the shirt. "Doesn't mean I'd wear it for anyone else, mm?"

Gai took his time looking Obito over, awed, drinking in his body with his gaze: the patchwork of scars, the pale skin... He was beautiful. The shirt and mesh were left in a pile with his pants and Gai ran his fingers down Obito's chest. "Good. Though I think I like you in nothing more.". He was blushing a little again.

He gave a delighted laugh at that and reached up, running his fingers over green cloth to hunt for the way into it. "Ah, but more people get to see that."

"Obito! I should hope not too many of them with the same intent, though!" He let Obito's hands search, before he helpfully pointed out the zipper up the back.

He shifted up onto his knees to get at the zipper and leaned against his chest, sliding the zpper down carefully. "Definitely none of that."

He pressed against Obito and wrapped his arms around his naked waist (just to steady him, of course), shivering just a little as that zipper parted the back of his suit. "Good."

"Nah, see, I reserve that for special occasions. And you, well, I hope you don't let just anyone undress you." He got the zipper all the way down and worked on peeling the material away from hs skin.

He grinned, feeling his skin flush with excitement as Obito's hands exposed it to the cool bedroom air.

"I can assure you that I do not! In fact, with these sorts of intentions, you are the first such special occasion!" Everything else had either been childhood or medical. Maybe once or twice he had come back from a mission too tired to undress and someone had helped, but that was rare. It wasn't really Ebisu or Genma's style, after all. Obito was the first to undress him this way, and one of very, very few Gai had ever imagined or wanted to have do so.

"Ah, then I really should make sure to show my appreciation." He pulled the cloth away, over his shoulders, pulling back to tug it down his arms. "There's definitely plenty to appreciate."
