Flu Season! ... Wait, that's not a good thing.
Where: Konohagakure
When: February 10th - 19th
Notes: The flu has hit Konoha and Adela is one of many victims! It doesn't seem so bad at first, but after a while it really starts to get to her. And being bedridden for any reason, let alone illness, isn't fun.
FEBRUARY 10th - SASUKE UCHIHA ONLY
Maybe it was because the weather had been unusually cold with lots of heavy snow, or maybe it was because of a bug being brought in from the returning ninja from the chuunin exams. Either way, it seemed like she was starting to come down with something fast and it made her unhappy beyond belief. But, she'd fight against the conflicting feelings of being far too hot and chilled to the bone, dressing for the weather and sniffling in a feeble attempt to breathe. It was just a cold, she told herself -- she'd be able to fight through that for the spar, and have a good long rest after.
It was then that Adela reached the training field, a little early and beginning to stretch even as she started to feel dizzy. Her stomach was turning uncomfortably too, but that was probably just loss of appetite from the cold, right? Right. She'd wait for Sasuke to show up, and spar like normal. That'd get her blood flowing, and that'd help her feel better. Yeah...
FEBRUARY 11TH TO 19TH - OPEN
Stuck in bed with the flu, a high fever, an upset stomach, and bed-rest orders coming from everyone around her. That was one recipe to make Adela exceedingly grumpy with life, and she coughed weakly before reaching for the tea beside her to help soothe her throat. This crap was sweet, but it really did help her throat feel even slightly less sore than before, so it was helpful. Even if she didn't like it that much.
The smallest of sighs left her as she tried to adjust the swiftly-warming cloth on her head, longing for it to be cool once more and longing to just be healthy again. There would be no fast way, not for this though. She kind of felt like she wanted to die, but that was dramatic -- the illness was miserable, but she knew it'd get better. Even if it didn't feel like it, and even if her stomach was having trouble holding down much more than crackers, tea, water, and soup.
The knocking on her bedroom door made her head pound, and she groaned audibly before sniffling and glancing to it, flushed with fever and trying to crawl out from under her blankets a bit so she could support herself on her elbow. Her voice was weak when answering, weak and sore when at last she asked, "Who is it...?"

Her life was better for it, in the end. With him working at the forge instead of her, Tenten would have more time to focus on her training and research in preparation for Jounin Examinations.

"A big project, though... Wonder what you're planning, Tenten..."
no subject
At the speculation, though, Tenten could only give the other a gentle smile in response. "You can never tell with me. My team is known for crazy things, after all~"

"M'glad you can rely on uncle for great weaponry, too... You've gotta be picky about what you use, right...?"
no subject
"Yes, well... you can thank my parents for that. Most of what I know, I learned from them." At the same time, it was somewhat... refreshing to hear that all her efforts meant something. As if part of her could feel at ease for the validation, especially from someone who was more than familiar with the ins and outs of weapon making and design. "And normally, I would take on these projects myself, but... my father always trusted your Uncle's judgement on matters that were a puzzle for him so... there's no reason for me to not do the same, right?"
With that, she offered Adela a smile of her own, keeping to the light subject and letting the nostalgia fill her up with warmth before the sadness of reality could settle in.

"Uncle's... Gonna test me as a journeyman soon... He said so..."

It was a small consultation, Tenten knew. Because it was not often that she sought the aid of outside help on any of her projects - not when Tenten had her own forge to work from, and her own secrets of technique and intent to keep hidden away from the public eye. The less others knew of how her weapons functioned, the better it would be for her out in the field when such surprises could come in handy to have.
"But hey, that's good to hear, about the test and all! Means he thinks you're ready, right?"

But it was necessary. Just as it was necessary for Adela to relax and rest in order to recover quickly from this cold of hers. Still, there was no reason that she could not get a little help along the way.
"Well..." Finally setting the bag she had in her hands onto the side table beside the bed, the elder reached in and pulled out a decent sized container. "Maybe this will help you get better, faster."

"Chicken and dumpling stew." And while Adela could not exactly smell this culinary concoction, she could very well see how nicely it could taste.

Still, she could at least say something, nodding to Tenten once she could meet her eye again, "Thanks, that's really nice..."

Tenten knew that look well. And even if she didn't, the kunoichi could certainly surmise a guess, especially with the not-so-subtle reach to the neck. Anyone who had ever been subjected to a cold on the throat knew the mix of torture and relief of eating something warm. And that was not taking into account just how much it screwed with a person's appetite.
"...I'm told that heat is supposed to be soothing on a sore throat. And the dumplings are soft, so they should go down easily enough with the thick broth helping it."
omg I am the slowest ever I am so sorry
Well, she could get some tea that was cooled with ice cubes or something later.
no no ur okay, i'm the one who suddenly disappeared for two weeks!
"It is! At least to me, it is." And Tenten could only speak for herself and her own tastes. "Did you wanna try some while it's still warm? It's okay if you're not hungry..."
Pfff not really, considering.

Taking care of others had always come naturally for her, ever since she was little. Back then, there had still been a lot of Uzu refugees struggling and working hard to make Konoha their new home. And most of them had children, not all that different than herself. An only child, herself, Tetnen had taken it upon herself to care for and watch over the younger kids. Especially the ones who were getting bullied by the village children.
"And eating certainly doesn't hurt. Unless you're at that point where nothing wants to stay down." But the fact that the young girl seemed rather fixed and immobile in bed was a good sign that Adela was not paying tribute to any porcelain deities. "Again, it's up to you."

"Hopefully this'll keep you strong enough until we can get some real food in you."
