abileunaspada: (I'm gonna be sick...)

Flu Season! ... Wait, that's not a good thing.

Where: Konohagakure
When: February 10th - 19th
Notes: The flu has hit Konoha and Adela is one of many victims! It doesn't seem so bad at first, but after a while it really starts to get to her. And being bedridden for any reason, let alone illness, isn't fun.

FEBRUARY 10th - SASUKE UCHIHA ONLY

Maybe it was because the weather had been unusually cold with lots of heavy snow, or maybe it was because of a bug being brought in from the returning ninja from the chuunin exams. Either way, it seemed like she was starting to come down with something fast and it made her unhappy beyond belief. But, she'd fight against the conflicting feelings of being far too hot and chilled to the bone, dressing for the weather and sniffling in a feeble attempt to breathe. It was just a cold, she told herself -- she'd be able to fight through that for the spar, and have a good long rest after.

It was then that Adela reached the training field, a little early and beginning to stretch even as she started to feel dizzy. Her stomach was turning uncomfortably too, but that was probably just loss of appetite from the cold, right? Right. She'd wait for Sasuke to show up, and spar like normal. That'd get her blood flowing, and that'd help her feel better. Yeah...

FEBRUARY 11TH TO 19TH - OPEN

Stuck in bed with the flu, a high fever, an upset stomach, and bed-rest orders coming from everyone around her. That was one recipe to make Adela exceedingly grumpy with life, and she coughed weakly before reaching for the tea beside her to help soothe her throat. This crap was sweet, but it really did help her throat feel even slightly less sore than before, so it was helpful. Even if she didn't like it that much.

The smallest of sighs left her as she tried to adjust the swiftly-warming cloth on her head, longing for it to be cool once more and longing to just be healthy again. There would be no fast way, not for this though. She kind of felt like she wanted to die, but that was dramatic -- the illness was miserable, but she knew it'd get better. Even if it didn't feel like it, and even if her stomach was having trouble holding down much more than crackers, tea, water, and soup.

The knocking on her bedroom door made her head pound, and she groaned audibly before sniffling and glancing to it, flushed with fever and trying to crawl out from under her blankets a bit so she could support herself on her elbow. Her voice was weak when answering, weak and sore when at last she asked, "Who is it...?"

She would never assume to have a relationship beyond what it was. Tenten had no delusions about friendship that possibly didn't exist and kept a marginal distance to maintain a level of professionalism that was sometimes necessary. But the fact of the matter still stood: Adela was likely the only person in the village who was as enthused and excited about weapon-work and smithing as she was; the only one that she had come across, in any case. And that was enough of a cause to at least be on friendly terms.

So when the kunoichi had caught wind of the other's poor health, it was only natural for Tenten to grow concerned over her well-being. And for her to make slow strides in helping Adela to recover from it. Perhaps that was stepping beyond her boundaries, but Tenten was willing to risk it. And if the other disagreed, then she was more then welcome to tell her so.

"It's me..." Easing open the door, the young kunoichi carefully peeked her head inside. "Is it safe to come in?"

He knew she wasn't feeling well, he'd heard that quick enough, but that didn't mean he wasn't going to swing by and give her a gift for the holiday. That just meant that what he had in hand was cold friendly. Cold helpful even.

He just hoped she didn't hate the taste of minty things. "It's Iruka." He pushed the door open. "May I come in?"

He had not been nearly as sick as Mikoto had made him out to be, Sasuke was sure of it, and in any case recovering from a few days' head cold had turned out to be at least a little less irritating than the week would have been if he'd spent it stifling the simmering upset of lightning chakra. The storm had mostly blown over by the time Sasuke had finally pulled on his thickest training gear and slipped out of the window, eager to work off some of the stir-crazy engendered by a few days of forced bed rest.

It nearly gave him more sympathy for the escapee patients he'd occasionally had to retrieve and force back into a hospital bed, but only nearly. Shinobi patients remained the worst ones of all.

In any case, the distraction of first the weather, then the spar with Kakashi, and then the inability to smell or hear anything for several days meant that he was thoroughly in need of sorting out his energy before tackling intel again. Adela's bloodline techniques would hopefully provide enough of of one --

Or so he'd thought, until he actually saw the girl. Even without the Sharingan he could tell that her chakra was a mess, and closer inspection brought out more details: flushed skin, pupils slow to focus, running nose.

"What are you doing outside?" He asked in lieu of a proper greeting, stopping short of reaching out to feel her forehead as he might have with a teammate -- he could still remember how poorly she'd reacted to a surprise touch before. "You could have cancelled if you were feeling sick."

Usually, Kiba avoided sickness and those that carried it like - no pun intended - the plague. Not only was he useless as a sensory type shinobi when all his senses were clouded by snot and mucus, but he was also incredibly pathetic when sick, and he didn't want to suffer through that self-inflicted embarrassment any time soon if he could handle it.

So why was he here? Well, luckily for Adela, the Inuzuka persisted with excellent health and strong immune systems, usually getting most common illnesses out of the way as children. Kiba couldn't accurately place the last time he'd been sick, but he knew it was a while ago.
That, and... Kiba wanted to be here. He supposed that was the only explanation, but as soon as he'd heard about Adeka's condition, he'd pestered his mother for a favor - in refurn for a horrendous round of curious teasing - and had raced over with a still-warm pot of soup in his hands.

"It's Kiba!" he practically yelled when he reached the door, Akamaru waiting patient outside the building. He was about to open the door and let himself in, but remembered his manners at the last minute and paused to wait for her permission.
