abileunaspada: (I'm gonna be sick...)

Flu Season! ... Wait, that's not a good thing.

Where: Konohagakure
When: February 10th - 19th
Notes: The flu has hit Konoha and Adela is one of many victims! It doesn't seem so bad at first, but after a while it really starts to get to her. And being bedridden for any reason, let alone illness, isn't fun.

FEBRUARY 10th - SASUKE UCHIHA ONLY

Maybe it was because the weather had been unusually cold with lots of heavy snow, or maybe it was because of a bug being brought in from the returning ninja from the chuunin exams. Either way, it seemed like she was starting to come down with something fast and it made her unhappy beyond belief. But, she'd fight against the conflicting feelings of being far too hot and chilled to the bone, dressing for the weather and sniffling in a feeble attempt to breathe. It was just a cold, she told herself -- she'd be able to fight through that for the spar, and have a good long rest after.

It was then that Adela reached the training field, a little early and beginning to stretch even as she started to feel dizzy. Her stomach was turning uncomfortably too, but that was probably just loss of appetite from the cold, right? Right. She'd wait for Sasuke to show up, and spar like normal. That'd get her blood flowing, and that'd help her feel better. Yeah...

FEBRUARY 11TH TO 19TH - OPEN

Stuck in bed with the flu, a high fever, an upset stomach, and bed-rest orders coming from everyone around her. That was one recipe to make Adela exceedingly grumpy with life, and she coughed weakly before reaching for the tea beside her to help soothe her throat. This crap was sweet, but it really did help her throat feel even slightly less sore than before, so it was helpful. Even if she didn't like it that much.

The smallest of sighs left her as she tried to adjust the swiftly-warming cloth on her head, longing for it to be cool once more and longing to just be healthy again. There would be no fast way, not for this though. She kind of felt like she wanted to die, but that was dramatic -- the illness was miserable, but she knew it'd get better. Even if it didn't feel like it, and even if her stomach was having trouble holding down much more than crackers, tea, water, and soup.

The knocking on her bedroom door made her head pound, and she groaned audibly before sniffling and glancing to it, flushed with fever and trying to crawl out from under her blankets a bit so she could support herself on her elbow. Her voice was weak when answering, weak and sore when at last she asked, "Who is it...?"

There it was, Sasuke thought with an internal sigh, the shinobi's capitulation to the reality that even mercilessly-trained bodies had limits. He stayed where he was as she drew closer, only ducking a little lower to make sure he was examining her pupils on a level.

"You sound congested," he informed her, and then lifted his hand, showing her his palm. "And you look like you're running a temperature. Do you want me to check?"

It was obvious even from sight, but Sasuke gave it a few seconds of comparison between her clammy forehead and his own before withdrawing his hand and delivering the verdict: "You're far too sick to be training."

There was sometimes value in toughing it out, but between the weather and how ill she already was, Adela was merely tempting fate at this point. "You need liquids and bed rest."

Liquids, bed rest, and maybe a cold cloth, Sasuke revised mentally, looking at the way Adela was holding herself. He'd seen shinobi checked into the hospital in worse condition, to be sure, but preventative measures were needed to prevent exactly that from happening.

"Come on," he said after it looked like Adela was still stewing in disappointment. "We can always reschedule a spar, but not if you get sicker. I'll walk you home."

He waited for her to draw level before setting off in the direction of her house -- it wasn't the first time he'd taken her home when she'd been overexerting herself, now. Apparently this was going to be a pattern.

"When did you start feeling unwell?"

He wanted more detail than what she'd given -- in particular, what she'd been exposed to in the past 48 hours -- but the snappish tone was enough to make Sasuke have to resist the urge to roll his eyes as if he hadn't been trained out of it by Mikoto years ago. Dealing with shinobi as patients was the second biggest reason he had refused to take the qualifications to be a med-nin full-time: ninja were easier to handle when knifed in the gut than when asked to talk about their health.

And Adela was difficult enough to get a bead on at the best of times. Sasuke levelled a longer assessing look at her before shrugging one shoulder.

"Right. Have you taken anything for it yet?"
