senseiofthesea: (I don't approve.)

[Open] This is not what he'd expected from today.

Where: Academy and surrounding areas.
When: Starting just after noon on the 3rd, goes all day.
Who: Anyone who wanders in
Notes: Iruka had not planned to cover explosive tags today.

The first explosion had come from the far end of the building, and hadn't immediately set off any alarms. Another teacher might have had a mishap while teaching something about sealing.

The second explosion had all of the students tense, and the third had them hurrying out of their desks as he waved them in. Just in time too, because it wasn't a moment later that there was another boom, just overhead, and some of the recently vacated seats had rubble blown into them. It wouldn't have killed anyone, that he could tell, but he didn't know how many more were coming, and he wasn't going to risk the safety of the kids, even as more explosions sounded from beyond the Academy walls.

It was bad, the whole situation was very bad, and he snatched up one of the girls when another blast knocked her off her feet, keeping track to make sure that everyone was with him as he hurried them to the underground parts of the building. It was rarely used for anything but storage, but if the explosions were all coming from the roof, it would be the safest place until he was sure that they'd stopped.

The kids resisted staying put, of course, and as soon as he made sure everyone was uninjured and would not leave the area, he hurried out to help the other teachers as well. His kids would be okay, but he needed to get outside, and make sure that the people out there didn't need help too.

Some of the younger students had been scheduled for Taijutsu practice around that time, and he had no idea how bad it would be. The teacher in charge of them was new, and when he got out there, he was right to be concerned. It was chaos. And not just at the Academy either.

"Seven." At least she thinks it was only seven. It's hard to distinguish injured from uninjured through the byakugan. The chakra flow doesn't change quite the same as it does with the dead. She won't know until she's closer and once she does she finds there's at least two more that were injured in minor ways and would need to be carried back to the building.

"Nine, there's nine, two of them will need to be carried back," she calls and then turns her attention to the scattered children. Some where crying others scared enough that they couldn't move and others still were coming toward her to ask what to do, what was happening, are they going to be safe, they want their parents all at once. It was a cacophony of voices competing with the already loud explosions.

She nods quickly and turns toward the first of the two injured children. Worst first then the second; basic triage.

With gentle hands she picks up the first child and brings him quickly to the building for treatment. Light feet moving across the debris strewn ground to hand the child off to another teacher and then heads back for the other. "How are the rest?"

"That's good," she murmurs returning with the other child in need of medical attention in her arms. She doesn't linger long to talk, the explosions are still falling. The sooner the children are inside the better.
