[Open] This is not what he'd expected from today.
Where: Academy and surrounding areas.
When: Starting just after noon on the 3rd, goes all day.
Who: Anyone who wanders in
Notes: Iruka had not planned to cover explosive tags today.
The first explosion had come from the far end of the building, and hadn't immediately set off any alarms. Another teacher might have had a mishap while teaching something about sealing.
The second explosion had all of the students tense, and the third had them hurrying out of their desks as he waved them in. Just in time too, because it wasn't a moment later that there was another boom, just overhead, and some of the recently vacated seats had rubble blown into them. It wouldn't have killed anyone, that he could tell, but he didn't know how many more were coming, and he wasn't going to risk the safety of the kids, even as more explosions sounded from beyond the Academy walls.
It was bad, the whole situation was very bad, and he snatched up one of the girls when another blast knocked her off her feet, keeping track to make sure that everyone was with him as he hurried them to the underground parts of the building. It was rarely used for anything but storage, but if the explosions were all coming from the roof, it would be the safest place until he was sure that they'd stopped.
The kids resisted staying put, of course, and as soon as he made sure everyone was uninjured and would not leave the area, he hurried out to help the other teachers as well. His kids would be okay, but he needed to get outside, and make sure that the people out there didn't need help too.
Some of the younger students had been scheduled for Taijutsu practice around that time, and he had no idea how bad it would be. The teacher in charge of them was new, and when he got out there, he was right to be concerned. It was chaos. And not just at the Academy either.

But being caught up in combat meant that one had to make up for it, and aim for where a target would end up.
This was his goal in his practice today, knowing his mission was mainly spying, but not forgoing the chance that he would have to meet opponents head on. It's an hour that he manages, under the Konoha feat, entirely unaware of their impending attack.
The first explosion, like many others' reactions, seems ordinary. Accidents happen, demonstrations are had, other people practice. The ensuing rain of them is what stops him, the small sand bag he'd launched flying directly past him, gaze turned sharply towards the mass of eruptions littering his home village.
It'd begun, and his body is moving, mind taking a few instants to catch up. People are going to be harmed, rubble must be dodged, and smoke avoided as he makes a beeline for the Academy.

And then she heard another slightly closer and another. She’s running before the fourth goes off. Her only thought to reach the compound to help get the children and elders to safety before something catches fire. But her route takes her by the Academy and the chaos of it as children run trying to dodge out of the way of explosions and debris alike. The teachers trying desperately to herd the students inside and to safety somewhere in the building.
Her plan changes as she picks up a six year old that would have been pinned under a falling tree branch and rolls them both out of the way. Getting them both their feet she directs the student toward the building where many of the other students were being ushered inside from the class. Her gaze sweeps the yard quickly before going to work to herd any missed straggler. Her gaze briefly catching sight of her former Academy teacher doing much the same. Well this was a fine way to run into him again.

Adela only arrivd at his side by the time the third explosion went off, with a bruise blooming on Adela's right arm. True, she had been near the second one, and she was doing what she could for damage control, but at the same time it wasn't like she was fast enough to avoid all of the debris without some mild damage. The fact that it was mild was good, but at the same time...
Okay good, looked like Iruka had already gotten all of the kids in the immediate area to safety, and Adela had done the same when she realized what was going on. It seemed like he was okay too...
"Was there another one around here?" The question was hurried, harried by her breath as she just tried to regain enough energy to be able to act at a moment's notice.

So he burst onto the scene in the midst of the chaos in the direct aftermath with escorts in tow, and immediately headed toward the wounded. One teacher sought to block the stranger--worse, foreigner--from getting too close, but Gale called up a healing jutsu, letting the glowing healing chakra surround his hands.
"I'm a medic; do you think refusing my aid is wise?"
It was enough to get the objector to step aside, and Gale immediately knelt to put the chakra to use, healing the child that was closest. There were many injured, and Gale didn't think he had enough chakra to tend to even only the more serious injuries, but he wasn't about to let that stop him.
