Suna Chunin Exams!

Where: Sunagakure and the surrounding desert. Village Map.
When: June 4th-30th

Event Details
Suna does not require examinees to be part of a team to participate. However, if you came with a partner or team, losing one of them before the end of the second part of the exam will leave you disqualified.

4th: Starting at ten in the morning, those being tested will be gathered in the northmost part of the Bazaar and each will be handed a ribbon with a number on it and which is either red, blue, or green. They will then be sent to find the shinobi with their matching color and number in the bazaar before they leave the area, and tail them without getting themselves detained by their target.

Please note that those being tailed will give two chances to genin following them before detaining their tails.

Any who fail to keep an eye on their target or catch back up to them by three in the afternoon are disqualified.

4th-9th: At three o'clock, after all tailed shinobi are gathered in one place, all genin present will be escorted out of the village along the road north past the fork east before being given their next instructions.

This will take about three hours and once their destined point on the road is reached, having met up with another shinobi group who will have sets of wrapped packages. Each package will be either a sun, moon, or star, and all competitors must have the full set in their possession before arriving at their destination, which will be the Demon desert fort.

All competitors are advised to not unwrap their packages until away from other teams, and teams will be released into the desert in the order which they arrived to the meeting place in Suna after tailing their local.

Any who do not arrive by seven PM on the ninth will be disqualified, as will anyone who is missing a teammate. Only after this point in time will lost genin be rounded up and returned to their joinin.

"I wasn't saying you needed to be rude. I find it refreshing." He leaned in close so the comment had no chance of being overheard. Suna was so not the place to be overheard in this particular comment, even if people did agree. "Rasa was a total dick okay, I'm glad his kids are nicer."

"They are much more interesting and willing to talk. One of them was my escort while I was on that envoy mission. She made the mission that much more enjoyable!"

Kisame pitched his voice to the same level, not particularly caring, but knowing that it wouldn't improve Kiri's standing with Suna any. He had to think of Kiri first in more varied ways than he usually did. Ugh, he hated politics.

He gave a laugh. "I think of them she's the one who likes me least. I spent most of my time up to now associating with the youngest. He's a good kid."

"I haven't met the youngest personally, but I have seen him in action. Impressive, and what potential. I'm sure he's gotten more control by now."

The new Kazekage, on the other hand... Well, Kisame had impressions, but they'd need to work together more for more than that, and he was sure someone was skilled enough to capture even careful whispers, so he kept his initial opinions to himself. They weren't bad, but he wasn't here to risk starting a war with careless words.

"He's never been as uncontrolled as he seems." It was a murmur, accompanied by a small smile, and he nodded in understanding at the point where he halted and the sentiment it might have carried.

“To host one of the Bijuu, I’m not surprised to hear that about him.” Kisame was learning more about what the jinchuuriki went through day by day. He’d never known the late Mizukage before he’d been made the host of the Three-tails, but he knew Naoki-kun well. Any difficulties would be overcome; Kisame had that faith in the younger ninja.

“Maybe I’ll ask him for some pointers if I have a chance to talk to him!” Obito would know enough details about what had happened to know that somewhere in Kiri was a brand new jinchuuriki, even if Konoha’s informants hadn’t discovered who.

He couldn't help it. He had to smother a laugh at the words, and cleared his throat to try to bite back louder guffaws. "Good luck. He's not a friendly boy."
noboatbigenough: (Let's talk about murders!)

“I’ll keep that in mind. Even a little observation couldn’t hurt.” Not that Kisame thought Naoki would have trouble in the long run, but adapting faster was always better.

He leaned closer. "Kid's seal is shit, but politics have never given me an opening to do anything about it." It was a murmur, low. "It hasn't helped his temper."
noboatbigenough: (This is my good side.)

Kisame nodded. He didn’t like politics, but he was familiar enough with the constraints they placed on people to guess the reasons behind that fact. And a poorly done seal, combined with what was probably an unhappy Bijuu—the three-tails was very unhappy with his new host right now—spelled a certain kind of disaster. Actually, it was impressive that there weren’t more incidents of destruction on record knowing those facts.

“I can imagine. Ours is having a difficult adjustment period, but at least I can personally vouch for the quality of our seal.”

Revealing his personal skill with seals was a gamble, but Kisame trusted that Obito wouldn’t misuse the information, and would curtail the desire of others in Konoha to misuse it as well.
