It's Party Time!
Where: Konoha, Training ground xx
When: February 10.
Notes: Party log. Messages were sent to every person Hinata (and Natsumi?) could think of that Obito would want to see at his birthday party.
Keeping a party secret from the Hokage was like keeping a secret from her father. If given the slightest hint that something was up he would be all over it. Needless to say Hinata had kept the planning crew to herself and one Uchiha Natsumi. The older kunoichi becoming her partner in crime, and more than willing to take the food preparation out of Hinata’s hands and prepare a very lovely cake for the surprise party.
The party wouldn’t be fancy, just a gathering of friends and family members to her sensei in a training ground. The trick however was getting him to come while everyone else gathered. As such Hinata was left with the rather unenviable task of coming up with a fabulous tale to drag Obito out and to the party. Pity too because that cake looked fabulous.

[open? idk]
Even if he'd forgotten to look for a gift. He was really bad with gifts.
But even so, he was only vaguely familiar with most of the guest list, and both Hinata and Obito himself appeared to be missing.. Perhaps he'd arrived too early. In any case, a drink was in order, along with a small dish of appetizers. Had to keep his energy up and put some effort into looking more alive, after all.
[hi there my Swanlet]
h-hi..
"Hinata-sama sent me an invitation, and I was feeling well enough to attend.." And his lessons didn't officially start until tomorrow, so he still had this free time for now. "Happy birthday, Hokage-sama."

"It must have taken a fair bit of effort to keep this a secret from Hokage-sama until now. Not many people could manage it."

[AND THEN THE BIRTHDAY BOY ARRIVES]
Still, it probably was worth it that he looked utterly bewildered at all the people waiting in a training field for him, because... well... why?
Though, it didn't last long before he gave the most ridiculously giddy laugh when he realized it was a party for him. Birthday party! Time to mingle.

The cake was multi-layered and a mix of chocolate and caramel that guaranteed that anyone who ate it was going to have to train tomorrow to work it off. She'd made sure that it was decadent and delicious. Not only was this a cake for the Hokage, but it was a cake for the Hokage who was one of her cousins. How could she give it anything but her best effort?
"Happy birthday!" she said with a cheerful smile.

"This is wonderful, this whole thing! Thank you."

There was only a slight flush tinting Adela's cheeks as she approached, a box held in both hands of hers. It was a little long, a box holding a set of specially made kunai from her store - some of her finest. Granted, she hadn't made them specifically for Obito, but it still was a gift. The Hokage would need to be armed at all times after all, right?
Still, after he saw her with Sasuke the other day, and how it had happened... Well, she wasn't exactly too proud of herself. So, without another word, she just held the box in front of her, waiting for Obito to take it expectantly. She'd probably leave right after, though, since there was another 'project' she wanted to work on...

WHAT ARE YOUR ICON KEYWORDS OH MY GOD
He waited for the press of people around Obito to clear up before approaching with his own gift, executing a formal if somewhat uncomfortable bow (he was too accustomed to informality with Obito-as-sensei by now).
"Happy birthday, Hokage-sama."
THEY SEEMED APPROPRIATE, LOOK AT THAT FACE
OGGIDY WEE I'M TERRIFIED
WELL IT SUITS ALL THE SAME.

Maybe he should accept that at twenty-one, he was already old and be done with it. Itachi rolled that thought around in his mind and stayed seated where he was, watching the party-goers.

Then those two magical words "open bar" had appeared on the unexpected letter that had, somehow, found her before the date of the party. For a brief, wry second, Tsunade had wondered if she were really so easy to manipulate, that even a Hyuuga she had only met twice knew her weakness. Then the following seconds were filled with travel preparations, because open bar.
(And if the open bar isn't the only reason she goes, well. She'll never admit it.)
Tsunade is actually there long before Obito himself arrives, hitting the bar like it owes her money. Of course, it would take more alcohol than is even in the training ground to get her drunk, but she can enjoy the fare while it lasts, can't she?

It's while she waits that she notices the blonde women happily taking advantage of the open bar. A quick glance and Hinata places the face of the woman as one of the sannin, Senju Tsunade. Thanking the bartender she picks up her drink and travels the few feet down the bar to the woman a smile on her face.
"Senju-san, I'm gald to see the invitation found you. I'm sure sensei is happy to see that you could come."

"I have no idea how you managed to find me, Hyuuga, but good job on it," Tsunade replies, leaning against the bar. Her tone is amused rather than the irritation she has most times someone tracks her down. "I couldn't turn down both a free bar and the opportunity to give Obito his birthday whacks."
"I'm sure Obito will be as flamboyant as ever about seeing me," she quips, "but he'll have to find me, first." A mischievous glint appears in her eye. "So, any progress on the 'finding the Godaime a lady or gentleman' front?"

"Shishou," he greeted upon reaching her, looking with some dismay at the quantity of bottles that appeared to be to her credit. "... I'd hoped to find you earlier."
Maybe later would be better, at this rate, and with some of Shizune's hangover tonic in hand.
