[Open] This is not what he'd expected from today.
Where: Academy and surrounding areas.
When: Starting just after noon on the 3rd, goes all day.
Who: Anyone who wanders in
Notes: Iruka had not planned to cover explosive tags today.
The first explosion had come from the far end of the building, and hadn't immediately set off any alarms. Another teacher might have had a mishap while teaching something about sealing.
The second explosion had all of the students tense, and the third had them hurrying out of their desks as he waved them in. Just in time too, because it wasn't a moment later that there was another boom, just overhead, and some of the recently vacated seats had rubble blown into them. It wouldn't have killed anyone, that he could tell, but he didn't know how many more were coming, and he wasn't going to risk the safety of the kids, even as more explosions sounded from beyond the Academy walls.
It was bad, the whole situation was very bad, and he snatched up one of the girls when another blast knocked her off her feet, keeping track to make sure that everyone was with him as he hurried them to the underground parts of the building. It was rarely used for anything but storage, but if the explosions were all coming from the roof, it would be the safest place until he was sure that they'd stopped.
The kids resisted staying put, of course, and as soon as he made sure everyone was uninjured and would not leave the area, he hurried out to help the other teachers as well. His kids would be okay, but he needed to get outside, and make sure that the people out there didn't need help too.
Some of the younger students had been scheduled for Taijutsu practice around that time, and he had no idea how bad it would be. The teacher in charge of them was new, and when he got out there, he was right to be concerned. It was chaos. And not just at the Academy either.

But being caught up in combat meant that one had to make up for it, and aim for where a target would end up.
This was his goal in his practice today, knowing his mission was mainly spying, but not forgoing the chance that he would have to meet opponents head on. It's an hour that he manages, under the Konoha feat, entirely unaware of their impending attack.
The first explosion, like many others' reactions, seems ordinary. Accidents happen, demonstrations are had, other people practice. The ensuing rain of them is what stops him, the small sand bag he'd launched flying directly past him, gaze turned sharply towards the mass of eruptions littering his home village.
It'd begun, and his body is moving, mind taking a few instants to catch up. People are going to be harmed, rubble must be dodged, and smoke avoided as he makes a beeline for the Academy.

The best Iruka could do was physically stay between the kids and that, wrapping a wound that was bleeding badly on one of the boys in the group.
"Itachi. I need someone to help with wounds so I can calm down the hysterical ones." He tipped his head to where a little boy was nearly hyperventilating.

In the back of his mind, he only thinks for an instant that he should've made another route. Their collective Hokage is somewhere in the village, but he hadn't seen the office receive any damage yet.
But he is here now, and he'll do all he can to help the other children before moving on. He wasn't the only ANBU in service, after all. He's closing the distance now, reaching back into his pouch for his salve and bandages, not yet willing his Sharingan to deactivate.

It was a process that lasted into the halt of the explosions.

The silence seems false, but he welcomes it.

He could only hope. He's left gently pressing down on a deeper cut on a young boy, which was being difficult with the bleeding. Hes lightheaded, leaning against him heavily.
"I hope so." He murmurs, brow etched in worry. Perhaps this was meant to startle them rather than a full blown attack.
They got what they wanted, then.

And then she heard another slightly closer and another. She’s running before the fourth goes off. Her only thought to reach the compound to help get the children and elders to safety before something catches fire. But her route takes her by the Academy and the chaos of it as children run trying to dodge out of the way of explosions and debris alike. The teachers trying desperately to herd the students inside and to safety somewhere in the building.
Her plan changes as she picks up a six year old that would have been pinned under a falling tree branch and rolls them both out of the way. Getting them both their feet she directs the student toward the building where many of the other students were being ushered inside from the class. Her gaze sweeps the yard quickly before going to work to herd any missed straggler. Her gaze briefly catching sight of her former Academy teacher doing much the same. Well this was a fine way to run into him again.

Little did he know that there was definitely going to be more injuries, and no living teacher to speak of, on the other end of his request for her to check.

It was terrible but her feet were already moving that way. Veins receding now that the children were known to be in the right place. She couldn't do anything about their dead teacher but she could lead the students capable of walking back to the school. That much she could do.

"Nine, there's nine, two of them will need to be carried back," she calls and then turns her attention to the scattered children. Some where crying others scared enough that they couldn't move and others still were coming toward her to ask what to do, what was happening, are they going to be safe, they want their parents all at once. It was a cacophony of voices competing with the already loud explosions.

Adela only arrivd at his side by the time the third explosion went off, with a bruise blooming on Adela's right arm. True, she had been near the second one, and she was doing what she could for damage control, but at the same time it wasn't like she was fast enough to avoid all of the debris without some mild damage. The fact that it was mild was good, but at the same time...
Okay good, looked like Iruka had already gotten all of the kids in the immediate area to safety, and Adela had done the same when she realized what was going on. It seemed like he was okay too...
"Was there another one around here?" The question was hurried, harried by her breath as she just tried to regain enough energy to be able to act at a moment's notice.

"We can work on treating the injured when everyone's started to get grouped together. They'll be calmer with you, Iruka-Sensei, so I can go and get medi-nin to check them over if you think that would work."

So he burst onto the scene in the midst of the chaos in the direct aftermath with escorts in tow, and immediately headed toward the wounded. One teacher sought to block the stranger--worse, foreigner--from getting too close, but Gale called up a healing jutsu, letting the glowing healing chakra surround his hands.
"I'm a medic; do you think refusing my aid is wise?"
It was enough to get the objector to step aside, and Gale immediately knelt to put the chakra to use, healing the child that was closest. There were many injured, and Gale didn't think he had enough chakra to tend to even only the more serious injuries, but he wasn't about to let that stop him.

He'd turned after his first sentence, already heading back the direction he'd come from. He wasn't a natural leader, at least, he didn't view himself as such, but the children were his priority and always would be, and the other sensei needed someone with a cool head. So... that just happened to be him, at the moment.

"I will do what I can until my chakra gets too low, and hope more aid arrives. I cannot heal them all myself."
In spite of saying that, he was already kneeling in front of the worst injuries in the new group and giving the wounds a thorough look. It's bad.
"This might be better with seal use. Can you and your comrades use seals adequately?" It might be a little overkill, but Gale is better at seals, and it might conserve his chakra a bit if he can funnel the healing through seal structure instead of a more direct application of chakra. Others would be able to apply their chakra as well, if they're familiar with seals and can follow direction.

"I'm decently proficient, but I can't say the same for everyone. Most are novices or so with a leaning toward security seals because we've started teaching the kids those because of the scroll system."

Gale stands, looking at all the rubble and dust. "I cannot work at my best here. Is there somewhere close that is relatively undamaged? Also how many share your general proficiency level or have excellent chakra control?"
