Who: Kushina and whoever
When: Arriving March 1st, late morning, until leaving March 9th, mid-afternoon
Where: In and around Konoha, between the village gates and the travel seal if you really want, ...seriously, just everywhere when she's not spending quality time with her family
Notes: Just come say hi 8| Aforementioned quality time with family will be most mornings from March 2-9, and all nights. But family teammates are always welcome to dinner. >3>

No matter how many times she came back to Konoha, she always made a point to walk around different parts of the village. It felt necessary to reacquaint herself with the streets and various landmarks after spending so long away from home. And meeting up with friends is a must too. On a couple afternoons she even takes some time in one of the training areas by the river. No reason not to keep sharp, even if she's technically on vacation.

Whether you're looking for her or not, that bright red hair of hers isn't hard to miss.

"Hmmm, so long as we warn that the explosive tags will be live, we shouldn't get too badly yelled at about it. Hmm, maybe chakra activated ones? Level of chakra means level of explosive?"

SO Obito might also be getting excited.

"If I didn't know any better, I'd think you were trying to kill me. Unless you mean a bigger bang for someone who can pour more chakra into activating the tag intentionally. Either way I like that idea."

Kushina is clearly the best influence.

"Of course not, you can take a hit like that Kushina-nee, just the same as I can." He gave her a brilliant smile. "And people who can't will obviously hear about that and stay out."

"You sure? I think I can take a hit better than you can." She grinned right back at him and beckoned for him to follow her to a nearby tea shop so they could continue plotting. "Then again, if we end up scaring everyone off, it'll be right back to the two of us."

Yup... That's the only thing wrong she sees with their plan.

"We can always play a game of it just you and me and see how well other people could handle it? That could be fun too." He leaned in, smirking. "Wouldn't want to accidentally maim my delicate students."

"I hope you aren't calling my son, delicate." She spun quickly to stop at his side and deliver a light jab with her elbow. "But I'll take you up on that challenge. Forget tea, let's go right now."

"Just as delicate as his father. You know as well as I do that that kid has nothing on you Kushina-nee. You're a goddess." He grinned, totally unrepentant.

She raised an eyebrow as her hands went to her hips. But in an instant, one came up to slap him in the back of the head. Not so hard to cause damage, but enough to send a message. She sometimes did hit a little harder than she intended...

"That's my husband you're talking about, y'know. But I guess you would know, since you were his student, just as Naruto is to you. You really are it."

She grinned as if to let him know she was teasing. And a second later, she was gone.

His hand went to the back of his head to make sure nothing was stuck there the second he processed what she said, because the last thing he needed was to die via accidental friendly fire, okay? Then he was off, because clearly he had a Kushina to catch.

And he was right to check at least, flinging the paper away from him with a sharp flick of his wrist as he headed the opposite direction. Okay then, Kushina clearly had just declared war...

He was so entirely willing to play that way though, so it would all work out.

She had jumped off fast and hid herself in a tree where she could keep an eye on him while she quickly tied her hair into a ponytail. Good to know he was still sharp when it came to her methods, he had found the little present she left him. But now he was going to look for her.

She couldn't waste any time, so she darted from one tree to the next until she got closer to the forest separating the various training grounds. No need to involve anyone else. Yet. Besides, she didn't feel like explaining why public property had been destroyed.

She finally secured a position in the middle of some branches, keeping her back to the trunk and keeping a lookout on all sides. The hunt was on.

Chakra sensing wasn't his best skill, but he wasn't totally terrible at it, and he felt no shame at all in turning on his sharingan to outright look for her. Better pre-emptive than with a hole blasted somewhere in him because of a surprise tag.

The moment he figured out where she was he took to the trees, putting more speed into his run. Alright, time to see just how long it would take to catch her.

Every little noise and movement caught her attention. She had taken note of a pair of birds two trees over, a squirrel at the base of the one she was obscured in. Reaching back to her bag, she quickly took stock of her explosive tags. Enough for now, but she'd have to restock after their little game.

Another noise, somewhere to her left. Not the birds. She pulled out another note as she shuffled carefully around the tree, keeping the noise to her back.

He noticed that she was paying that kind of attention and fed a bit of chakra into his feet, softening the sounds he was making as he circled quickly, then made for her, making sure his tags were in easy access. He did so love his exploding tags. He didn't try to hit her with them though, starting to hit the branches with tags as he looped that would go off if she brushed by them.

It was a nice little spiral and now he was aiming to get her. Time to see who was faster. He ran right at her.

Shit. Apparently, it had been too long since she had sparred with him. She slapped one down on the tree behind her back before darting off, intentionally feeding it enough chakra to detonate after a few seconds. One tree, two trees, three-- boom!

She grabbed one of the branches with a tag, one finger tapping just enough to set it off. She kicked off to one side before zipping back up into the treetops. Once hidden again, she created a few clones and sent them off in different directions. One stuck with her as she headed for the river. A quick transformation for one before having her drop out of the trees.

And now it appeared that a one, Nohara Rin, was leaning against one of three logs by the river.

It really had. See what happens when you leave the village for practically years at a time? You forget how to practice with your favorite Uchiha, that's what. Obito was fast, but not fast enough to fully evade the blast. Instead he let himself slip through branches until he could grab one to drop to the ground properly. He'd have to restart the tracking process, and a quick scan had him pausing though as he looked into the training field. Cute.

But not quite good enough. She clearly didn't expect him to have cheated from the start too. Thus, while scanning for Kushina proper, just in case, he circled around to see what the fake Rin was trying to do, ready to slap a tag on her.

The transformed clone had orders to wait until Obito jumped down or passed into eyeshot and call out to him waving, then see if she could distract him with a little chat. Hopefully long enough for Kushina or one of her other clones to jump into action.

She made a few more and had them hide themselves away as best they could, closer to the training area than herself and the other clones. Those three would gauge Obito's reaction to noticing the disguised clone and one would disperse to pass on the intel to the original Kushina.

Obito made straight for her after a look over. Yep, not Rin, which was good because he'd feel bad if he surprise explosive tagged Rin. Like. Really really bad.

He kept his lashes mostly down though so that she wouldn't catch the red of his sharingan as he approached, more of an excited bounce entering his step as he waved with his empty hand. "You might wanna clear out, it's kinda mined out here."

The not!Rin turned once he came into view, and right on cue raised a hand to wave, but slowly dropped it at his words. She put on an expression of worry and looked around nervously.

"Mined? Why would anything like that be going on here? What if some genin come walking through and gets hurt? There's no warning signs posted! At least, I didn't see any on my way here."

Meanwhile, one of the nearby clones quietly vanished. Contact with target made. One from further back silently moved into its place. The real Kushina kept herself and one of her clones that hung back busy. They slapped up a line of semi-visible explosive tags along branches a few yards away from the training field, followed by a second obscured row several feet further on. A tricky gambit, but hopefully one that would help in her grand scheme.

"Ah... well it was kind of a spur of the moment thing." He shifted on his feet, throwing her a sheepish smile as he edged closer. "But... promise I'm keeping a sense out to ward people off, okay?"

He leaned in, putting his hand on her arm, this one the one with the tag. "But thanks for the reminder Kushina-nee."

Then he sprang away before she could react to the name.

"But I'm not--!"

Shit... He was gone and he knew, and that must mean-- Her hand went to where his hand had just been and, yup, she found a tag. She ripped it off and was about to keep it from going off, but the others had to know what he said. How had he seen through the transformation? A few seconds passed while she thought it over and-- boom!

The sound caught Kushina's team's attention as the information hit them. A guilty squirm hit her stomach as she inwardly cursed the clone for bringing up the pitfall to their game. But there was something more pressing right in front of her.

"Keeping a sense out... A sense..." She paused for a few seconds, thinking it over. "What could he mean... Damn it! He's using his Sharingan!"

Immediately she slapped her hand over her mouth. It came out too loud, now way he didn't. The clone put down two more tags before acknowledging the hurried order to move away. The original popped off to hide somewhere, ready and waiting to see if her hunter would become her prey.

Well, Obito wasn't deaf and he immediate started to circle toward the source of the shout, well, the seeming shout, and he knew that he'd only have so much time before she totally vacated the area. Still. Bombs, He couldn't ignore the risk, so he took the simplest route.

He moved through the field where the tags were very likely to be at top speed so that if they were there, he'd set them off in passing.

He didn't intend to let her get a fix on him that way though so at the last second he darted through the trees at speed away from the explosions, heading for her from the other side and going through trees so his passing wouldn't trigger anything as he looked for her.

And set them off he did. The actual minefield she set up exploded on the first row, and as planned, some debris set off a chain reaction for the back row. She noted it started at the far end on the left, so he'd likely be swinging around to find her.

Two clones should be coming up him, ready to tag him if they get the opportunity. Another ready to lead him on a chase into her general area if he goes off track while she molded up a good-sized amount of chakra.

Crap. He knew the second she'd clued into his idea as she was suddenly there, though he doubted it was the real her. He put the speed back on to dart away, reversing to go right past the clone and pretty much exactly in the opposite direction than he'd been going before. He could be tricky, and it was a bad day when he wasn't tricky enough to bypass simple maneuvers.

As soon as he went in the opposite direction, the clone wrapped a tag around a kunai and flung it at him. The other kept going to relay what happened to the original before darting off in another direction to relocate the Hokage.

Kushina frowned slightly. Maybe she'd have to go ahead with her plan sooner than expected. But then she'd have to set up a larger area than she'd like to. And even if she ran the chains underground, they'd still lead right back to her. No, she'd have to wait until he got closer. In the meantime, she needed a new plan of attack. Time to make something up on the fly...

Kushina, no matter how she cut it, was older than Obito. That meant that she was more set in her fighting style than Obito had been when she'd started to leave the village for long periods of time... and now was when that was doing her a disservice. Obito did a quick genjutsu, making himself blend into the surroundings. He wasn't as good with them as he could be, sure, it wasn't his favored battle tactic... but he'd gotten better. He made sure to cut off as much noise as he could make to try circling back toward her again, keeping a sharp eye out for explosive tags and heading back through the area where he'd set off the volley earlier to come at her.
