If Gai felt truly foolish about this, he would never have agreed.

Still, standing in Obito's bedroom with nothing but a scarf thrown over his shoulders and another tied at his waist, Gai wondered if Obito was going to laugh at him. Maybe the waist scarf was a little too much.

What exactly was proper protocol for naked scarf dances?

He had been practicing a routine (fully clothed, of course) all day yesterday, and he was quite happy with it! Obito should be thrilled! Plus, there was dinner (which they would prepare together, but Gai was certain Obito would very much enjoy) and there would be dessert, and then they could relax and spend the evening together! It would be the best birthday Obito had had in a long time, surely! That was not overconfidence speaking!

Gai waited until he heard the door close behind Obito before stepping into the doorway between the livingroom and the bedroom. He grinned at him, tossed a tail of the scarf over on shoulder dramatically, then posed with his hands on his hips. "Happy Birthday, my Hokage."

"Alright." Gai nodded and stood, taking Obito's hand and helping him up.

He went easily with the tug, and ran his other hand down Gai's chest for a moment before turning and heading into his room, pulling Gai along behind him as he moved toward his dresser.

Gai came along in a happy sort of daze, skin still tingly from the touch and mind wandering away from dinner as he stepped into Obito's room. He wasn't sure he would fit into Obito's clothing, but he wasn't going to argue with letting Obito dress him.

Obito sized him up for a moment, then leaned down, pulling open the scarf drawer and pulling one out before finally releasing his hand. He met his gaze as he looped it around his waist and tied it there. Then he leaned down to get another.

Gai raised a brow as he watched Obito tie a scarf around him. This would hardly protect him from anything, let alone a kitchen burn. But...Obito's ideas were good ones, and that look was enough to make Gai agree to almost anything. As Obito bent over to find another scarf, he took a moment to appreciate the view, belatedly bringing a hand up to touch...then, before it could, withdrawing the hand quickly when Obito stood.

He had flipped several over his shoulder while he was down there, and when he stood, he started some kind of elaborate net of them up Gai's torso, starting with a the two Gai had been using earlier. He was very focused on the matter, as he seemed fully intent on making sure they were just so.

Gai put his arms out, out of the way of Obito's handiwork and watched him, fascinated by Obito's nimble fingers and concentration more than the actual assembly or the product itself. Though that didn't stop him from taking notice of what Obito seemed to be doing.

"Are you ...weaving them onto me?" He frowned down at the garment Obito was assembling, unsure what to make of it, but the effort was certainly admirable and the result was so far fascinating.

He flashed him a grin, then went back to it, making something of an apron first before kneeling down to start down to make sure his groin was shielded similarly.

Gai blushed a deep red as Obito moved lower. "I hope you do not plan to reuse these for another village activity. I do not think I can think of them the same way again."

"Oh no, they're all mine now, and that means I can do whatever I like." He leaned forward, kissing high on his thigh before returning to his work. "Including wrappign you in them."

He shifted, changing weight between his feet as blood rushed downward. "Oh. Okay." He put a hand on Obito's head partly as a means to steady himself.

He noticed, leaning forward and nuzzling his hip through the fall of cloth before adding a couple more scarves to make sure his front was sufficiently protected.

"Obito!!" His fingers tightened, not getting much of a grip on the short hair, and he tried to calm himself, breathing in and out of his nose slowly. "You are going to make dinner a very difficult task, I think."

He flashed a brilliant smile up his body, then pushed to his feet. "Yes?"

"Yes." He grinned back and pulled Obito in for a kiss. "But I do enjoy challenges."

He kissed him again, then ran his fingers up his shoulders. "Better?"

He shivered, excited by the touch. "If by better you mean more covered, yes." If by better Obito meant less turned on or lessdistracted, that was a big no. "Shall we go make dinner?"

"Yeah, I'd like that." He kneaded once, then moved his hands to his forearms and slid his hands down to his wrists.

Now Obito had to be doing that on purpose. He wondered how he could possibly make it through dinner without it devolving into at least a make out session. Gai took another slow, deep breath and stepped towards the door, not breaking their contact.

He stepped after him, squeezing his wrists as he moved in close enough to breathe against his jaw. "What are we making?"

Gai practically melted and had to clear his throat before speaking. "Uh. Sweet-and-sour fish. Steamed vegetables. Um." He eyed Obito and a slow smile drew over his face as he tried to turn this teasing around. "Of course if you would prefer to make something else, I am willing to accommodate! I am very flexible."

There was some heat in his eyes as he met Gai's gaze. "Oh yes, I noticed. But... I think right now I'm happy with what you picked."

He held that intense gaze. "If you should change your mind, all you have to do is say. Now, let us get you fed."

He nodded, not looking away once as he went with him off to the kitchen. He still hadn't released him. "Fed is good."

Gai didn't want to release him either. "It is. I intend to make sure you are full and satisfied!" And he meant that with regards to food; the potential double meaning hadn't even occurred to him.
